Justify it any which way you want because you're wasting your time. Canelo DID NOT win 6 rounds against Mayweather. He didn't come close to winning 6 rounds against Mayweather. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could have scored that fight better than a draw. That score was a farce and any justification of that score is idiocy at best.
Canelo fought an intelligent fight against Floyd, but I'm not making the argument that he deserved to win 6 or 7 rounds, rather that there were 6 or 7 rounds that were rounds that were close rounds where you had to split hairs to decide who won the round. In these rounds that I am referring to, neither guy was scoring any earth shattering punches. These were very much ultra-defensive feeling out rounds, which the majority of the fight was. I don't know why you and many others can't seem to accept that this was the type of fight it was, a hard to score close competitive fight. All you have to do is listen to Floyd after the fight and he'll be the first person to tell you how difficult and mentally challenging the fight was for him. It was no surprise that Floyd won the decision, but that doesn't mean you can't come up with a 6 rounds to 6 scorecards if you're scoring it round by round. CJ Ross being forced to resign from boxing should tell you all you need to know how about how strong the pro-Floyd contingent was for that fight. Canelo needed to basically dominate Floyd to have any real chance to win a decision in Vegas at that particular time. Canelo conceeded so many things to Floyd to make that fight. Floyd stacked the deck against Canelo, and won a hometown decision. I think it's absurd how you and many others think you can't even make the argument that the fight was a draw. Judging is hugely subjective and I thought Canelo fought Floyd tooth and nail in that fight. Floyd outboxed Canelo in spurts, but it was very touch and go, this was not a dominant performance by Floyd, he was very anxious and wary of Canelo's power, and all you have to do is look at how Floyd was constantly reacting to Canelo's feints early on. I'll be taking another look at this fight when I get a chance and will try to re-score it and I challenge you to do the same. It's not a waste of time because it's one of the biggest fights in boxing over the past decade or so and many have a view of the fight that I don't believe is accurate.
