Assuming he wins decisively, where would you rank the win in history?

Id rate it as the THIRD win Gennadiy deserved over the Ginger fraud & if he knocked his Ginger ass OUT COLD!!! I'd really class it as KARMA!!!

A points win, would merely be rectifying the judges sins of the past, and finally getting the credit which is long overdue. Which would be a laudable accomplishment. But if he can set things right by walking Canelo down, beating him senseless and scoring a brutal TKO victory over him, that right there would be some ATG ****.:deal:

If it’s decisive as in a KO, then undoubtedly GGG goes down in history as an ATG. Not only that but one of the highest ranking ones considering he’d be the only one thus far to have KOed Canelo.

It’s significant for his legacy as the sad fact is that over time your paper record becomes the truth and people forget the robberies.

from an achievement perspective, not significant at all

From an achievement perspective, it's the most significant fight for GGG in his career by a country mile. Because, he's attempting to not only win a title in a different weight class, but he's also attempting to win the Undisputed Title at Super Middleweight, a weight he's never fought at. He had the catchweight vs Rolls at SMW, but he never fought at the full limit or for a SMW Title.

So from an achievement perspective, for you to say it's not significant fight "at all", what the hell are you talking about lol. Not only does he have a chance to become a 2 division World Champion, not only does he have an opportunity to become Undisputed at SMW, but he also has a chance to do all that at 40 years old, which only enhances the achievement to do something like that at an advanced age. And he has an opportunity to beat his rival and the only fighter he ever lost to, the only fighter he fought but could never beat.

As far as the "robbery" claims, we've been over this a million times, and I know a lot of GGG fans feel this way, and I'm sorry for those who feel this way, but claiming that either fight was a robbery, is an acknowledgment that YDKSAB. This is like fangirl, that time of the month, being wet down there type of crying. Seriously guys, put on your big boy pants for once in your life, accept what happened the first 2 times GGG fought Canelo. Canelo bested GGG both times and that's a fact. If anyone was robbed in that first fight it was Canelo who outboxed GGG in rounds 1-4, and got the better of GGG in rounds 10-12. Rounds 5-9, particularly 4 and 5 are debatable but this was in no way a robbery for GGG to not get the win there. He did not land enough clean effective punching to win, Canelo landed the better punches, showed a far higher level of skill. Canelo schooled him on the ropes in rounds 4 and 5, well besides that one punch in Round 5 that GGG landed, and in other rounds.

Seriously guys, we're in fight week now. This is not the time to cry about GGG being robbed. OK this sets yourself up for more agony if GGG loses once again by decision on Saturday. Now if GGG wins a decision, I'm not gonna come on here and cry about it. I'll talk about who should have won, and we can debate it, which we'll do no matter who wins. In my opinion, GGG winning by robbery is far more likely than Canelo winning by robbery this time, because I think that the judges are going to be very favorable to GGG this time, due in part to all the crying for 5 years GGG fans have done, and the fact that there was so much criticism of how close the Bivol fight was. Don't be surprised if Canelo outboxes him again but gets robbed this time with GGG being seen as a sympathetic figure and getting favorable scoring. That said, Canelo should win this becuase he's not only more skilled and is a bigger puncher, but he has youth on his side. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out on Saturday. A Canelo beatdown of GGG would be glorious, a bruised and battered GGG is very possible here, but of course many GGG fans want to see the opposite. I wouldn't be shocked if GGG gives the fight of his life and makes it very close on the cards. We just don't know what's gonna happen here, but this will be exciting and edge of your seat boxing. Buckle up because we are in for the rollercoaster of our lives on Saturday. It will be an incredible thrill to watch these 2 legends go at it one more time.

    Exactly...

Would make him 2-0-1 versus Canelo

And solidify him on Mount Rushmore of middleweight champs All-time with Hagler, Monzon, and SRR....

A GGG win would make him 1-1-1 vs Canelo. Not 2-0-1. GGG was unable to beat Canelo in 2 attempts. Regardless of what happens on Saturday, acting like GGG won either fight of the first 2 is delusional. I don't care how popular that belief is around here, it's mass delusion then. Fans either don't know how to score if that's what is the popular belief, or they are scoring with their heart and not their brain. The best GGG can do here is to even the series at 1-1-1. A close decision win would have the series dead even. The only way GGG can put himself ahead of Canelo in the series is by winning by KO or by scoring a knockdown. Then he can say it's even but he has more KDs or a stoppage.

I do agree that a win puts GGG in ATG territory, even if it's by robbery. Just from an achievement perspective. To become Undisputed at 40 years old would be legendary.

Beating Canelo isn't a great achievement for GGG because he's already beat him.

Winning a title in a new division isn't that big a deal as he's only fighting someone he's fought before that started at a lower weight than him. He's not moving up to face some big beast.

Not true. GGG failed to beat Canelo 2x.
Becoming Undisputed at SMW is a monumental achievement, especially at 40 years old. You acting like becoming Undisputed at SMW wouldn't a major achievement for GGG is insane.

Undisputed after campaigning and clearing out a division is one thing, undisputed after 1 fight is another.
