I wouldn't be against having him Top 10. His record would be ridiculously good, and his talent undeniable.
If PBF beat Hatton and Cotto, then retires with a perfect 40-0 record, he would have to be in the top 10 and maybe even top 5. At the moment though, I would say top 15, maybe pushing for top 10.
Where's the option for top100 ? He's not top50 atg and still wont be if he beats Hatton and Cotto (neither of whom are atg's themselves). The only top50 Atg who's on his record is DLH and thats debateable at best, but Oscar is certainly a top100. Floyd's never unified the belts, hasnt dominated a division since 130, hasnt taken on the top competition available. Hasnt won titles in as many divisions as people like Oscar and Hearns. Floyds best division was 130, but he's not even the best of all time there let alone in his other divisions. 130 - Alexis Arguello, Julio Cesar Chavez 135- Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker, Benny Leonard, Shane Mosley 140 - Aaron Pryor, Wilfred Benitez, Kosta Tzysu, Barney Ross 147 - SRL, SRR, Henry Armstrong 154 - Thomas Hearns, Terry Norris, Winky Wright, Mike McCallum etc etc Those are just the ones ive written straight off my head theres probably plenty more. Im not even convinced he would beat a prime Oscar de la Hoya, at any weight. I think he would most certainly lose to a prime Mosley at 135 and 147, 154. Calling him top10 ATG is ridiculous. Calling him top50 ATG is arguable. Id probably have him 90-100 based on achievements.
Rember guys that: 'If you want to be the best you have to beat the BEST' not beat only the good ones :-( :-( :-( . Can Mayweather say this?:huh :huh :huh
I have him in the top 20, perhaps around 15th or so. A win over Cotto wouldn't change it all that much. IMO he's just below the elite of the elite, such as SRL and Duran, due to the level of comp they faced. As to a win over Cotto, I think I'd be more impressed if he could be Williams. In fact that would really elevate his status in my books.
