What do you need then, other than winning fights to good fighters? Beat bums up instead? Put your arms in the air and to the side to signify TRUE GREATNESS?

How does an 8 division world champion sound? Surely that's worth something given its pretty much half of all the weights you can fight in.

This forum goes by the rule of 'old fighter good, new fighter bad'. Not saying the old fighters are bad, but it's obvious now that Pacquiao could beat up Canelo and people would be saying he's now only just missed out on P4P top 100 cause good ol' Joe Bloggs who reigned as champ in 1902 landed a decent body shot in a highlights video with cinematic action music in the background..

Not saying he didn't have a atg career but it can't compare to pacman's. Pacquiao could have stayed in the sub-135 divisions and absolutely dominated his fellow manlet twinks, but he dared to be great.

he was a beast in the lower weights and moved up despite his hand injuries.

they are both fabulous fighters, but i don't see how you can't compare floyd's career to manny's.
it's going to be a point of contention for all time.

Also manny is a legit little 126 lbs guy, and he could have stayed sub 135 his whole career. Floyd was only at super feather because he was a kid, as displayed by the IV usage at 147.

 

that just isn't true. you can't go beyond what your body can handle, and floyd clearly lost movement at 154.

 

for instance to repeat louis vs schmeling you need a WW III. To repeat ali's impact in the world you need another vietnam and racial right movements. To repeat SRR's career you need basically to reinvent the sport. To repeat armstrong's career you need to be a unified champion in 6 (not sure, I dont remember correctly, it was in 3 old fashion weights, I think it's the same as 6 weights nowadays) weights at the same time and defend all of them. To repeat ray leonard's or duran's careers you need another fantastic fours (fives with benitez).

And no, winning fights vs good fighters is not enough. You need at least to win fights vs ATGs, and even a bit more to be as great as some of them. And no, pacquiao will not reach the top level, no matter who much fanboys cry. He's obviously and ATG though, as I said.

 

Floyd Mayweather's own goddamn uncle said Pacquiao already has a case for GOAT.

Many people will have Pac as the GOAT if he beats Spence.

Chavez, Morales, and Robert Garcia already has him as the GOAT. Barrera has him only second to Ali.
