Where would you rate Fury P4P among elite British fighters down the years?

Mike Tyson vs Fury would a fascinating fight, could Fury keep him at distance all night long and would he be able to slip and avoid Mike’s barrages when he does get in close.

It would be close, but Mike also had a bette ability to slip shots than Wilder does, and he attacked from a peek `a boo crough, lowering his head levels before he punched, great tactic vs taller fighters.

no, he really isnt. the level of competitiveness, between him and wilder, was close enough to see how he compares to a genuinely bottom tier boxer at the world level. the rds were not won by fury on a 10-2 punch connect difference, they were close. if wilder was just a good boxer, or fury an actual A level boxer, someone would have got ko.

I have Lennox, Bruno, Haye, and a few others ahead of him. Fury did beat Wlad, but it was a 39 year-old Wlad, so I can only give him so much credit as was the case of Ezzard Charles beating Joe Louis, who wasn't half the fighter he used to be or Leon Spinks beating Ali when he did. Fury also never defended his titles. However, now that he's returned if he stays focused he might just surpass even Lennox Himself because he certainly has the talent to do so, but he'd need to become the Undisputed Champ and also defend the titles a couple of times.

I don’t even rate Fury that high, but he is ahead of Bruno and Haye.

    It’s not even debatable.

He actually hasn't done that much, since he had zero defenses of his title and beat a declining champion in Wlad and let the WBC title slip away by goofing off in the later rounds. This is why I said it was too soon. In a few years Fury will find his place in history.

The comparison for Liston-Ali triumph was directed towards Wlad, the ageing champion dethroned by the youngster, although I'd say the Wlad win is much better.

I just thought it was an easyish comparison to make considering in his era Fury has effectively beaten the best heavyweight and long reigning champ, then gone and beat he guy that came after him as well. Similarly to how Ali did to Foreman, or Lewis beating Vitali, Louis over Walcott etc.

He does have a pretty meaningful defence of his lineal title, against the 1st or 2nd best heavyweight in the world. Much more impressive than a string of 4/5 title defences against a bunch of no hopers and mandatories.
