    Hi there fellas
Irishman in Byron Bay, anyone around to catch the fight? I'd imagine somewhere will be hopping, but I don't know the town too well

Vegas would be the best place to watch it.

Tried that one.. They just asked 'pay-per-view?' and once I said yes pretty much everyone I spoke to shook their heads. I'll try the RSL if not then I'm on the bus somewhere :patsch

apparently pubs had to pay some ridiculous amount to show it, if my ears were working properly & i wasnt too drunk i think someone told me about 30 grand last night, does that sound like bull****?

    Haha, yes.

Normal site fee for a pub would be between 4 and 5 hundred. They may have added a few extra hundred on for this one, but that would be all.

I thought it was more like $1,200 to $2,000 for a pub to get the fight.

Haha dead true, we rented a car and went to Ballina instead - those RSLs you lot have over here are quality, if you look past the smell that is

Thats definately closer to the mark.

The Manager of the "Steam Packet Hotel" in Williamstown said he'd have to sell 450 beers just to break even.

If $1200-$2000 is true, its mystifying why more aren't going with Sky.

I know as fact that some of their PPVs stated at $440 and I even convinced them to halve that on a two fight deal a few months ago for WA.
