Where's all the Kelly Pavlik hype?

Wait till Feb. 21 when Kelly destroys Rubio.

 

They disappeared quicker then Paul Williams fans when he lost to Quintana.........but like Williams fans, when he wins they'll return

 

I'm still a huge Pavlik fan, but I don't have enough time on my hands to make an impact on the board. He moved up 10 pounds to fight an ATG and lost, no big deal, the reasons that I like him still stand. He's exciting as hell, imagine having to watch more MW championship fighs like Spinks vs. Taylor? I couldn't understand anyone hating him, he's what boxing needs. Guys like Pavlik, Abraham, Kirkland, Angulo, Margarito, Katsidis make boxing alot more interesting and exciting.

 

Kelly's fans haven't gone anywhere. We've been right here the whole time. We're just not the obsessive nuthuggers that the Calzombies, Gayweathers, and *******s are. Most of us are knowledgable fans who follow and discuss a variety of fighters. We'd rather talk about current events than make endless threads about mythical match ups and ancient history.

 

Oh there were obsessive nuthuggers too as well as knowledgeable fans, just as exist amongst all those other groups you mention. You weren't one of them, though I much prefer reading your posts now a lot less of them are on the 'Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik theme', but they certainly were around and were as vociferous and as annoying as any other group.

They seem to have pretty much melted away.

 

Kelly was hyped cause of his flag not his skills.

 

When Calzaghe ducked Pavlik, I had to fight off the calzombies. They're a different breed from the normal calzaghe fans. I have to confess I had great fun with those thread! Some of them were like 20 pages, and I had a **** load of material to use.:hey

Everytime any fighter wins an important fight, we get a lot of really stupid threads. After Pav won the title, right away we had threads like Pavlik vs Prime Haglar, Pavlik/Hearns, even a Pavlik/robinson thread or two. I said Jesus christ! Let the kid have a career before you ask questions like these!

KP is certainly not the only one people do this with. I've read several posts recently where Froch would KO Kessler, and beat Joe:bart

All the Pavlik nuthuggers disappeared. He should never have been considered top 10 p4p at any time in his career.

 

He fought an old washed up Gatti. A comedy session for me was watching PBF get a split decision to an old washed up Dela Hoya.

As for Pavlik. He is the most exciting fighter out there. He was dumb and took the money. He fought a fight against against a naturally larger fighter. A smart fighter who could exploit his strength. Kelly is no 170lb pound fighter he doesn't have that strenght to compete there yet. Also he is not even in the peak of his career. The kids got alot to learn still. So shut the **** up and give him a chance. He is only 26.

 

Didn't he beat Taylor 2 times? I am sure you had Taylor in your top 10. You don't know **** about boxing. Go back to your mike Tyson punch out.

 

That may be part of it, but it was more the way in which he beat his opponents .

He is an active knock out artist, boxing fans are drawn toward fighters like this more than any other style of fighter
