Pavlik was exciting fighter. Shame alcohol cut his career short. His fight with Taylor was one of the most exciting fights of last 20 years. Hopkins put on a masterclass against Pavlik seemed to take his desire out of the sport along with his battle with the bottle. Would of liked to see how he would do today against guys like GGG and Jacobs and few others.
The old RBR Thread to the first Taylor-Pavlik fight on "Thescence" was classic, After the second round you had the usual suspects from back then going off on how the great white hype had failed once again all leading up to round 7 in which they then had a meltdown and went on a whitey bashing tantrum.
The B-Hop at 170 bout has full filled a lot of wet dreams, and shattered a lot of others. White savior and white hype... Still most American boxfans claim that they don't root for a certain skin color.
You can root for a certain race, nationality or style. It is just human nature, however on the same token you can also be objective and try to see from the other side. Unfortunately some here are so adamant on sticking on one side and ignore commonsense. Still I believe, it's great to have different opinions. One thing for sure is we all love boxing. That's why we are here.
