Not one year ago we could've sworn whenever Bradley-Alexander takes place it will be that time's big all-American superfight, turning a lot of long lost and new heads to boxing. But now that it's on and the date is approaching - where the hell is the buzz??? There's so much noise as in a cemetary after midnight and this unification between two unbeaten champions is coming next month. In fact there's so little hype around this fight that I must share my concerns if it's actually gonna happen - and I had a bad feeling before Ward-Dirrell as well. If you wanna know exactly what kind if attention Bradley-Alexander is getting, take a look at the advertisement I just saw on FN.com "Fernando Montiel vs. Nonito Donaire - The first big fight of 2010, Feb 19 HBO" :-( Come on boxing fans, make some for this big LWW showdown!
Could actually be a pretty boring fight...clash of styles and all that...and heads....Alexander didnt look that good against Kotelnik (who many including myself thought should have won), i cant really see either of them knocking each other out....i see Bradley winning on a SD/UD most likely...this is a fight for real boxing fans...i personally dont think its really one for the casual fans...
It's simple, many saw Alexander the next big thing pre-Kotelnik people were all over this guy, after Kptelnik his stock just dropped big time. People thinking, ok, so what was all the fuss about??? Plus Bradley has never been someone who has casual appeal, but known by proper boxing fans. Put the two together and you've got a bit of a stinker to be to honest. Bradley may just grind Alexander down nice and slow over 12 rounds, is the way I and many others probably see it.
Where did you buy your ticket? I was on ticketmaster the other day and couldn't find it. I assumed it wasn't on sale yet? :huh
I couldn't wait for it. It was in the top 3 match-ups I wanted to see see, now that's it here and I'm not as excited. I think a lot of the lost excitement is down to Alexander-Kotelnik. I saw it as a toss-up, I don't anymore.
HBO was supposed to have a vignette hyping the fight after Khan-Maidana but dropped the ball on that one for Lombardi.
Pac-Mosley made me forget the finer things, like the two best LWW's unifying very shortly. Bradley-Alexander and Donaire-Montiel are definitely the upcoming fights I can't wait for.
