Yeah two of boxing's finest (if not the very finest) 23-year-old prospects were in action yesterday and you barely made a cameo.

The thing about Crawford is that he is still improving. This will be a good fight for him because I that Benavidez will pressure him in a way that he hasn't experienced and I am curious on how he will adjust.

Crawford is going to batter and very likely stop Benavidez.

Some people have a strange complex with Crawford and routinely pick for him to struggle and or lose. A lot of posters from all sides do it, and I still don't get it as the man is very obviously P4P excellence. All you have to do is watch him fight.

In fact, this is exactly the kind of generalized upset talk we heard from some before Crawford's last fight against Horn... It was just as baseless then as it is now.

Does anyone remember the Horn fanboy brigade? He had a lot of very loud and obnoxious fanboys who were totally confident their man was at the very least going to drag Crawford through hell and back. Dude was like +800 and some people couldn't take a hint  Now Benavidez is like -35000 and people just keep piling on the stupidity with their sunken costs fallacy. We actually lost a few posters just because of that fight! I know some of those posters have been MIA lately.

Crawford is almost the complete package. Highly respect him and I think he destroys Spence. But he can deliver stinkers. He should have gone for the kill against Postol.

Good fight early because Crawford does sometimes start slow. When he figures Jose out he will beat him up and stop him.

There should be no buzz for Crawford fighting an over rated prospect. Since he's into fighting prospects, he could have stayed at 140 and fought Prograis. Prograis would destroy Benavidez.

I saw the M'Billi match, but sorry couldn't slog through all the kickboxing or whatever that was for Akhmedov. I made an attempt for a few seconds, but I was too damn tired.

bud is going to hurt jose with combinations. i think he will drop him early, around the 4th rd, but he will survive to get stopped in the 11th. crawford is going to be countering his counters and opening up with combos when he times him correctly. spence is the only guy who will beat crawford. bud and mikey could be 50/50 if mikey can carry the weight successfully.

And if Bud destroys him? Does he get some respect or will Benny suddenly be just a bum?

Crawford passes the eye test but who has he really faced so far in his career? And is Jeff Horn any better than Benavidez? I don't think so. And let's not forget Crawford getting shook by 130-pounder Gamboa. Benavidez might not be a murderous puncher but he is a natural Welterweight and he at least has some decent pop. It's possible he hurts Crawford at some point.

I'm not saying Crawford won't win but this might be a tougher challenge than people are thinking; I think Crawford beats Benavidez in a competitive fight. It might even be one of those competitively lopsided fights, meaning Crawford will have to work for every round he wins.

If Crawford destroys him, that'll be very impressive. Benavidez has been boxing his entire life, he is every bit of a professional as Crawford.
