He was supposed to take on Abraham but got low balled/over priced himself. He was scheduled to take on LeHoullier (a feather fisted LMW who's now going to fight JCC Jr in August) and then pulled out with an injury. He was then expected to take on Sergio Martinez and then he skipped out on that as well which led to him getting stripped of his title. Chances are he'll eventually own up to a fight against Sergio Martinez.
154 would be a good division if it's champions were more active and if it's prospects could straighten themselves out. Kirkland gets arrested, Angulo suffers a set back and Martirosyan has been forced to endure the Top Rank PPV Undercard syndrome. Lara has sort of emerged onto the scene but the champions are all busy playing with themselves. Ricardo Mayorga, a guy who could be a very important gate keeper is off getting into gun duels in Nicaragua, Daniel Santos is in PR doing god knows what. Travis Simms has decided to take a nap on his career as well. Just a really slow division at this point.
Junior Middleweight has never been a great division and right now the Division is dead. Nobody seems to want to fight and Arriba explains it perfectly.
Great breakdown. Hopefully Williams-Dzinziruk can get made and kickstart things. The inactivity at the top of the division is maddening- particularly from Martinez, who had some buzz built up from his last performance before it slowly died off from not fighting.
Right. One thing we can never blame Kermit Cintron for being is inactive. The guy has added a lot to 154 and hopefully we can get Martinez-Cintron 2 to clear that whole bull**** up. I wouldn't mind Williams vs Dz and Cintron vs Sergio II on the same card with the winners set up for the Spring.
