I dont think hes a ***** for aiming for Calzaghe and not Abraham and Kessler. He's the one of the best defensive fighters, so why not aim for the best.
Alright clearly you had enough I'll stop the habitual button pressing. Geez you didnt have to go all caps lock on me.
So whats he gonna do, sit around his house all day 'aiming' for Calzaghe and not getting them because hes coming off a loss and isn't a draw? This is what you have to do when you lose, and you are so boring you offer nothing else. Prove yourself once more, show you aren't as shot as you just looked, beat a contender Winky doesn't want to do the hard yards anymore, inwhich case he should just retire
I guess if nothing comes his way he will have to prove himself again. But just look at the people he has fought, he's worked hard, had plenty of fights, if most the people got in the ring they would quit after one fight, its not easy, if i had fought as many people as him, and had fought the standard of fighters he had fought, right now i would not want to go back and fight contenders to get myself back to the top, i would want to just have the big fights. I think your right, if he cant get the big fights and doesnt want to fight contenders any more he should just retire. I do not think he is shot though, a calzaghe/wright fight would be very intresting.
Yep, its tough luck in a way, but this is an entertainment market. Exciting fighters get preference and are easier to match after a loss, thats just how it is. Winky-Wright doesn't excite anybody outside purists. He has to work harder for a shot, thats just the reality
Yep it is tough luck for him, he does have to work harder, i think he will get a big fight soon though, either oscar, tarver or calzaghe. Calzaghe went from saying one more fight, to changeing his mind and saying a few more fights, im sure winky is one of the fighters they will consider, i hope we get to see winky/calzaghe at some point in the near future.
Last I heard of him he was having a hissy fit because Pavlik wouldn't give him a title shot. Karma can be a *****. :yep
One of the best defensive fighters of our generation?, I don't think so. Winky is just TOO overrated to be honest, what's so special about his "turtle" style?, nothing special there and we saw how Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins dealt with it. Winky is too overrated for my taste and he's not even close to being considered a great fighter.
