Whether you like Mayweather or not, his performance was near-flawless

Okay, he didn't knock him out, but he was basically schooling one the most skilled boxers of all weight classes, and with ridiculous ease. Yes, he is the bigger man, but let's not forget that he started at 130 and stayed there for damn near 10 years, while Marquez started at 126lbs. He was the bigger man, but given that it was so damn one-sided and how Marquez proved to be worthy at 135lbs, it was very impressive.

I don't like his personality at all, but putting on such a masterclass after two years of inactivity, possible financial problems, Roger having to go to court, etc, that's ****ing impressive man. I'd make him a heavy (2:1 or more) favorite against either Pacquiao or Mosley.

yes it was a great performance.......wow i really did think marquez would win atleast 2-3 rounds....the only round you can make a case for him winning was 8...but even that one i gave to floyd....

I agree completely, there was more to that than just the size advantage. His movement alone was too much for Marquez to handle and then top it off with the speed and it was over before it began.

Floyds size shouldn't be overlooked in this either though. I think if they are the same size Marquez could have waited for Floyd to come forward and tried to counter him but I still think it would have been severly one sided.

There was no suprise here.....JMM didn't belong in the same ring with PBF, (just like Pacquiao doesn't)......

The real issue is Mayweather ought to pick on guys his own size. :good

Anyone who thought JMM had any chance in this fight was obviously on drugs.:huh

Floyd needs to fight Williams, it will never happen though because no one knows who he is.

I think Floyd wins relatively easily against both Mosely and Pac

You and I both know Floyd is almost always the smaller guy. Two fights against people in lower weight classes(though most believe Hatton is either around the same size or bigger than Floyd), and you make it seem as though he's been doing this his whole career. He will fight a "REAL WELTER" again, most likely after Pac, and when he wins that, I'm sure you'll find another way to discredit him. Look, Floyd plays the jerk, and for my money probably is a jerk, but let the discrediting stop there, at least there validity in that.

JMM couldnt even beat Chris John. As much as I hate Paz and as overrated as he was he would had beat little slow JMM out the box. Speed would be the difference. He would had been overwhelmed.

Oh God, are you serious? Marquez has competed evenly with Paq, Barerrea and Morales.Pazienza split two fights with Greg Haugen and got shut out by Uncle Roger. Paz never fought on the level of Marquez.

I just don't understand this point of view at all.

When Mayweather outclassed Corrales, I sang his praises from the rooftops.

    But this??

    Nah.

If you put any top fighter in with someone facing such clear disadvantages, they will win.

Marquez's abilities were badly affected by the unnatural bulk-up he had to go through.

Put Manny Pacquiao in with Humberto Soto right now at 140, or Shane Mosley in with Nate Campbell at 147, or Miguel Cotto in with Juan Diaz at 147, and all three would look breath-takingly sensational too.

I'll praise Floyd again when he beats someone his own size. Last night proved absolutely nothing.

    1. Oscar De La Hoya
    2. Zab Judah
    3. Carlos Baldomir
    4. Arturo Gatti
    5. Jose Luis Castillo
    ...etc
All these people he fought were bigger and he had to move up to fight them.
He has been beating people his own size and bigger for 13 years. I guess that means your praising is overdue.

It was a masterclass that few expected. I expected it. Floyd is the best, period.
