Whether you like Mayweather or not, his performance was near-flawless

I dont consider myself a PBF hater, but i really wanted Marquez to win this fight. Watching the fight, regardless of the size advantage, made me realize how super skilled this guys is. I mean schooling Marquez like that has got to mean something. And to me if someone can school a guy like MArquez then that person has got to be something special. And a lil message to the haters out there, regardless of PBF attitude, we can all be thankfull, as boxing fans, to witness that kind of skill... live. And by the way PBF conducted himself with classe during the post fight conference...the one lacking class was Sugar Shane...another fighter i like a lot...

Congrats to Floyd and after watching this...i don't think no one can beat this guy...

Pac beat JMM not the other way around. He dropped him four times in two fights. JMM beat an old MAB, something Pac has done twice already and JMM has never fought Morales so your point that he competed evenly his bull****.

Paz would probably be too big for JMM. Is JMM a bteer fighter then Paz? Hell yea he is. But so is Ricardo Lopez and Marc Johnson that dont mean they can be in the same ring does it.

The question was asked to Roger about titles in different weight classes. My prediction is that Mayweather will have to go to the next level for real recognized title. There is no one popular enough at 154. Should Williams beat Pavlik, Mayweather challenges Williams at a catch weight of 154. Modern day Leonard-Hearns classic.

It was against a LW at WW. He got his tuneup. Now it's time to fight SSM and Cotto.

Floyd has been fighting bigger men for damn near an entire decade.

He's coming off a full two year layoff which most boxers in their 30's don't survive without losing a gear. Floyd looked as brilliant as he ever did. Tell me how that is not impressive??

"He fought a smaller fighter" so ****ing what? Marquez came off great performances in knocking out Diaz, Casamayor and going even with the p4p #1, Pacquiao. At least he should've been competitive, but he wasn't.

Hopkins' performance against Trinidad was brilliant as well, even if he was the bigger man (by a way larger margin than in PBF-JMM btw). The fact that it was a complete shutout shows you that there was more to it than just the size.

Ignoring all weight issues, the performance was a boxing clinic ... just too good.

Floyd definitely looked great, really quick and sharp.

But Marquez looked even slower now (probably because of the added weight) and it was obvious he couldn't hurt mayweather at all even if he did land flush a few times. So this wasn't Marquez at his best (the fact that we was even able to land and counter at all considering the speed and reach disadvantage is just a testament to Marquez's great sense of timing and distance).

In the end, Mayweather looked great but he did what he was supposed to do. All this proves to me is that the layoff has not affected him. He's just as quick, just as sharp, just as accurate and just a slick as before.

I won't be singing his praises yet.

Had Marquez drunk Pac's ****, he would have knocked Floyd in 4 rounds.

Floyd proved he can beat an old feather/lightweight by decison whilst Mosley is smashing elites WW devastatingly at a grand age..

Floyd's never fought someone with such a weight/size advantage as he had.
Floyd's never moved up 2 weight classes for one fight to fight a P4P'er.
Imagine PBF moving upto LM, fighting Williams and Cintron then moving upto fight Pavlik/Froch (imagine Pavlik/Froch a top 3 P4P'er), all within a year and a half, add to this let's imagine he's 36 and not 32, oh and lets also add that Pavlik/Froch weigh in over the agreed limit....
what do you think would happen??

That's what JMM was up against and that's why PBF looked so good.
Lets get things in perspective here, a great display it was but are you really that surprised??

    I wasn't.

Floyds performance was good, no doubt about that.

But the question is: why did Floyd have to go looking for a fighter to move up 2 weight-classes to face him at WW (for WW it was since Floyd didn't even care to make the catch-weight of 144lbs) when there were plenty real WWs around in the division that could've faced him (Mosley is just one of them)? No matter how great JMM is, he's no real WW, and it was plain to see in that fight. JMM was slower than usual because he bulked up too much, but he was still the much smaller man.

Yep, I thought he was so dominant he could have gone after him more but then that was the only way marquez would have really been able to land anything so in a boxing sense you cant criticise him for that.

He did obviously have the size advantage, but he quite clearly didnt need it, he was better in every aspect anyway which is impressive against a fighter as good as marquez.

Which is why it irks me that he didn't even bother to make weight. He could have drained himself a bit more and he still would dominate Marquez. But he didn't because he still wanted the size advantage w/o any ill effects of draining himself.
