Tyson-Spinks is an underrated win.Spinks had twice outpointed Larry Holmes and nobody expected a blowout, some people thought Spinks would win.Douglas-Tyson is probably the biggest upset in boxing history,Tyson was thought to be all but invincible at the time.

Tyson v Spinks wasn't an upset, it was just a savage statement on how Mike Spinks had no real desire to fight Tyson in reality...

Tyson TKO by Douglas , was a great upset and for James was by far more impressive considering he had to get off the floor to do it...

Douglas was more impressive, The win by Tyson was great but in reality , Mike Spinks was lost in the Tyson AURA........

I disagree. It was no better than Tyson's win over Holmes really, if even as good.

Goes to show how overrated Tyson was. Vitali would have made him look like Sam Peter. People were scared of him. Name a top guy that he beat, you can't but you can name the top guys he lost to.

I'd like to know why Spinks retired after that fight. That was his first loss right? At what age was he? He should have fought on.

Oh, and the Douglas KO of Tyson was by far the more impressive. It's probably the greatest upset, not only in boxing, but sports history.

He unified in under a year and cleaned out the entire division in dominating fashion aside from Lewis and Holyfield due to his jail sentence and the consequences of King taking over and Rooney being ousted.

He beat most of the top guys and champions in the division during his short reign, his mental issues and lack of competent management are what ****ed him over, not his lack of ability. Your comparison with Vitali and Sam Peter is nothing short of laughable and exposes you as a clueless git. Because Vitali has beaten so many top fighters, right?

Sphinx was 31 when he lost to Tyson. I think he retired because there wasn't much else for him to do. He was one of the best who got bested by the best in the game at that time. Look at Sphinx's face while on his way to the ring. He didn't want to be there and he looked scarred. There was no reason for a rematch and he had already accomplished quite a bit...so he retired.

He was pretty much done by that point. His legs were shot and his best days were well behind him, not to mention it'd have been hard to recover from a devastating loss like that at that stage of his career, especially when he wouldn't be dropping back down and he'd have no more hope of accomplishing anything in the HW division with Tyson around anyway.

I hear ya Sweet Pea, very true. To be honest I'm just not much of a Tyson fan. Holyfield was my man and Tyson had nothing for him. We all know that Tyson had trouble with tall rangy fighters ie LL. Vitali could pose the same threat. The man fears no one and has a chin of granite. I hate on Tyson but I have to give him his credit, all that you stated was true.

Geez, stop giving all this credit to Lewis for beating an over the hill, way past his prime, shot version of Tyson - it's just ridiculous.

Lewis would have been taken out by a prime Tyson. It makes me laugh that all the youngsters that grew up with Lewis as Champ think he would've stood a chance against prime Tyson.

And this is coming from a Brit!

I voted Tyson v Douglas btw

Tyson was NOT over-rated. **** he was a bad mother ****er. He just had mental issues and emotional problems. The guy was a bonafide badass. Just because Tyson owned everybody doesn't make it a weak division.

    **** he unified the division.

    Plus, he broke his back............spinal.
