Which 3 upcoming British Fighters will be the next to win World Titles?

Kevin Mitchell - Not sure if he fits the criteria of upcoming anymore, but he has proven he's got the skills, heart, chin and power to go against the best. His display against Prescott showed another dimension to Kevin which I honestly didn't think he had.

Frankie Gavin - Guided by FW is the first reason. Am most impressed in him out of the 3 olympians, knocking all his opponents out. I was there to see him fight that Samir Tergaisouhf (sp!) French bloke in Newcastle and he took out a very durable opponent with relative ease.

George Groves - Big fan of his. He looks really at home in the pro ranks, he beat Paul Samuels pretty impressively, and at this early stage of his career that's pretty ****ing good. Would love to see him vs Degale in the future for the SMW world title.

Kevin Mitchell isnt guaranteed to win a world title just because he outboxed Breidis Prescott, Prescott was beaten by a journeyman in his last fight and it took a career best performance for Mitchell to beat him.

Cleverly has that look of class about him that makes me think he can go all the way.He has come on leaps and bounds over the last 18 months,great jab,great speed and improving power can deffo see him winning a title at some stage.
Gavin hasnt set the world alight so far in his pro career but thats because his opponents know his pedigree and mostly come to spoil and survive but as soon as gavin gets in there with live bodys i think we have a potential world beater on our hands.
Bellew again has great amateur pedigree and has a real solid look about him in the pros thus far.He loved to mix it in the ams and so as with gavin i think we will get the best from bellew when hes stepped up.Cleverly vs bellew for some version of the light heavyweight title at the echo 2011 sounds good to me.

 

although frankie gavin has a great chance of becoming champ in the future, do people really think he will be one the next three brits to win a title? i think he needs a couple of years yet.

anyway...

kevin mitchell - just passed FWs test by beating prescott and will surely be guided to a title shot in 2010. maybe frank expects JMM to vacate the WBO, and set up a mitchell - katsidis fight for the title. Katsidis will be big favourite, but i'd give kev a decent chance.

nathan cleverley - hopefully he'll get past the italian to win the EBU in january. not sure how active he will be leading up to the summer as he'll have his uni final exams in the summer. did anyone mention he's really clever? anyway, i'm sure frank will lead him to a shot at the wbo title currently held by braehmer.

matthew macklin - huge test ahead of him early next year when he faces pirog, but if he gets through that, i hope hatton trys to steer him towards a shot at IBF champ sylvester (macklin is ranked 7th by the ibf last time i checked) and not pavlik.

 

Ricky Burns is WBF level at a push.

 

Totally agree, lacks decent power although his conditioning appears to have improved.

 

I'd go for Burns to beat Martinez, after that its looking a little bare for at least a couple of years. I think someone world class will emerge out of the SMW/LHW pile up Degale, Groves, Dickinson, Anderson, Bellew, Cleverley, Jeffries....

Those Cubans need to get their act together.

 

I agree with Jeff, outside the odd "minor" world title I think we are in for a quiet couple of years.
