Which 3 upcoming British Fighters will be the next to win World Titles?

Of course it isn't, but Mitchell showed a different dimensional to his game that many of us never even knew existed. He's not extremely skilled, but he can box pretty well and when you combine that with the power, punch resistance and heart that we knew he had all along, and he's got a chance.

Mix that in with him fighting at super-feather or lightweight also. He's got chances across two relatively empty weight-classes now to pick up a belt. 135 was packed a while ago, but the likes of JMM & Pacquiao moved up, Casamayor dropped off, Guzman no longer looks like the fight he was. And with Warren, he should find an easier route to a title shot than most.

No one on this site wants Scottish boxers to have success more than me.

Look anywhere and you will find that I almost always choose to support the Scottish boxer over his English opponent. I was gutted about Arthur losing recently and overjoyed that Simpson keeps on winning.

I am just no fan of Burns. I have seen no miracle transformation from him being a decent young domestic standard boxer into a fighter with world title aspirations. Once he has a few decent fights then moves onto European level and then gets a few fights against decent contenders we can start bragging him off as a huge talent but I really do not think he will get that far. And once again I wish him the best of luck and hope he proves me wrong. Burns needs to step up from old fighters like Gomez and decent men like O'Hara before he can be taken seriously.

1. Cleverly - His next stop is Europe early next year. Presumably FW will place safe and avoid Dawson & Pascal other than these 2 he would be more the evens in picking up a belt.
2. Brook - At 147 the top welters are chasing pack and Co which leaves some safe belts from Brook pick from.
3. I will put Mitchell above Macklin in 3rd place. I think Macklin can beat Sylvester, but I see a banana skin in his next Euro defence which will put him back. Therefore Mitchell for a 135 belt

 

I can't see anyone special at the moment. The best prospects we have are Gavin and Groves. Saunders, Price, Fury, DeGale etc are not impressing at all.

Mitchell is in the inbetween stage and he's shown some promise. I certainly can't see him hanging with a Marquez at 135 but he looks okay/good.

Sutherland was the real promise across the UK & Ireland.

Guys looking for world title shots i.e. Macklin, Barker, Cleverly etc aren't special.

Then again Carl Froch looked proper **** in his early days but he kept improving and continued to showed his intangiables. He's a legit WBC champ with defences under his belt. The guy who really struggled with Adamu and even Magee seems to have kept stepping it up. Froch is an example that if these guys follow the right path and keep working hard then they get really achieve big things. Froch is probably a top 25 P4P.

 

Calzaghe struggled with Reid and Starie and Bika, its hard to tell how good someone will be become. Especially with the silly matches made.

 

I agree Jeff, it's pretty hard to tell which ones are good and which ones aren't when they are all fighting guys that don't punch back - they all morph into pressure fighters by default rather than working their natural games..... counter punching, brawling etc.

 

Reid - broken hand, but Reid is one of the best British fighters there has ever been on his day

Starie - boring but not a struggle, against the man who dominated Clinton Woods in similar fashion to what prime Jones Junior did.

Bika - Calzaghe gave rounds away, but you knew he could win every second of every round if he'd boxed boring
