Come on Jeff, thought you were giving up the hate for Crimbo/new year.

    My picks would be.....

    Macklin

    Mitchell

    Cleverley

My wild card would be Audley Harrison!!!

Reid showed what a fighter he was against Ottke, nobody else beat Ottke up like that.

Starie was a quality fighter, he never recovered from Calzaghe did to him though. He was still decent after the loss, but before it seemed as though he would go on to be a solid world champion.

How else do you explain the cringeworthy showboating? The insistance to go to war with anyone, even 6"4 monsters like Veit?

Macklin isn't a great chance. In Germany he'd be robbed even if he won, he'd need a KO. And no way he's beating Pavlik in a million years.

That first round KO has seemingly papered over the cracks, he's average...

    Hmmm.....

Wouldn't be convinced then, regardless of whether Place has the ability or not.

Having looked at his stable and how good some of them are, they are matched very softly against dubious opponents..... I know he's the guy that works closely with Frank Maloney, another soft matchmaker.

Place might get there, but not within four years.

The only guy Maloney has really done well with lately is Munroe - even Jamie Moore had to wait ages for a decent fight, in part due to the fact that he was sparking out everyone willing to get in there with him.

I can't actually believe I am saying this, but Warren is the man to get his opponents proper fights.... even more so now Hayemaker have gone by the wayside it seems.

Steve matches his lads well in order to develop them. He makes good matches and his shows are entetaining. He uses Ken Morton as his matchmaker and Ken tends to use the same opponents over and over again, but he does match his lads tough when required. Salari-Crewe, McFadyen-Hall, Johnson-Harvey, Goddings-that unbeaten lad, Warburton-O'Brien, Warburton-Nurse, Matvienko is always in tough fights, Crewe-Harvey was a fairly ambitious match. :deal

Maloney used to match well ut I think he's now cautious because his stable is a little thin.

Why the hype over Hayemaker match making? Come fight night it was awful.

    Exactly.

He gets a first round stoppage on a shot fighter ( who was never that great anyway ) and everyone think he's the business.
