Macklin and Moores fight was great but also proved that neither of them were great as fighters.

Brook is a decent fighter, and he may well beat Michael Jennings, but he will certainly not "destroy" him. (beating Jennings won't move him up the rankings BTW). If and when Brook does step up to world level then he will have to sort out his chin in the air issue otherwise it will be him who is "destroyed" by any number of experienced operators.

I wouldn't say Nurse was matched particularly well.... he'd probably admit that himself.

He looked good beating Baz Carey, never looked like stopping him but never looked like dropping a round either - but since then, Johnny Greaves, who had a record of about 1-29, hardly gonna motivate the kid, is it?

Warburton is a step in the right direction though, bigger guy, tough etc.

I don't claim to be a boxing expert by any means, particularly in this field - where the last thing you want to do is get your fighter beaten badly..... but IMHO Wood (and most others) is over-cautious - is that down to them, or the trainers, how much say do they have?

Matvienko is in tough fights, but that Royston fight scarred me for life. ****ing terrible.... he tried really hard to hit Royston but struggled to get within ten feet because of all the running going on. I'd have nailed the ****er after the bell :yep

Agreed, but I never was that up for that fight as Joes was shot!#

Some great body work in that round!

He got stopped by Dean Francis a good bit before he lost on points to Calzaghe.

I'll go with Mitchell, Murray and Cleverly.

    Then, hopefully, Brook.

    Kevin Mitchell
    Ajose Olusegun
    Kell Brook

These guys are perfectly positioned to fight & win a world title in 1-3 fights time
Cleverly is 5 fights or so away from a possible world fight and realistically, him Groves and Gavin have more potential to be world champs than the rest of the crop.
Macklin and Munroe are also in with a shout but i think Euro champs may be their glass ceiling.

Mitchell, Gavin and maybe Cleverly - but he won't hold on to that title.
