Have to give Hearns a punchers chance. Other than that I'm not that enthused about anyone.

A legit one .. no one ever defeated Trinidad at 147 .. he was a devastating ko puncher with speed and style .. he has become grossly under rated because of his losses at middleweight later in his career but the man was a monster at 147 ..

Probably Hearns, Leonard, and Floyd at the top. Re:Floyd, Robinson had holes in his defense and Floyd might find something.

Shane Mosley might cut it close if they went to war.

Best chance? Duran of Montreal. (I believe that version of El Cholo would have unified the WW Title against Hearns.)

I don't like Hearns against Robby at 147. SRL showed Tommy could be hurt to the body, while others who took on Hearns at WW said he definitely weakened as the rounds progressed. SRR was also a savage infighter against taller opponents, as Bobby ****s discovered.

Don't much like projecting a stoppage on cuts, but that's how I see Robinson-Napoles turning out.

We do have footage of Walker when he was the reigning champion at 147 battling McTigue in a 12 rounder, and he looks impressive.

Armstrong during his WW peak would have been applying relentless pressure.

Robinson is the greatest we have on film, Joe Rein not only received jabbing lessons from him and knew him, but like Burt Bienstock, personally saw him in action a number of times, and both made it clear on this forum that Robby was the greatest they ever saw. Gavilan II may be the greatest successful title defense in WW history. (Joe Rein was also at SRR-Gavilan I, and thought Ray also won that one conclusively.)

Another choice that could be a tough match up because of his chin, stamina and speed is Shane Mosley .. he would be a push over for no one ..

Yep A ,I saw the WW edition of SRR several times, and Robinson was a revelation to behold. I don't think any modern welterweight had much of a chance to beat Robinson who was a force of nature in his prime. I think that a Tommy Hearns would have the best chance to
upset SRR solely because of Tommy's size and enormous hitting powers, but Hearns didn't have the whiskers to absorb Robinson's
    violent flurries...
P.S. When SRR was upset by Randy Turpin in London there were quite a few veteran boxing writers who saw Mickey Walker absolutely destroy Tommy Milligan in London 1927. They were polled at ringside and asked "who would have won between Mickey Walker and Ray Robinson", were they to have met?...Almost to a man they chose
    Mickey Walker...For what it's worth...

He'd have to show me he could really defeat Tiger Flowers first.

The record book says that on Dec.3.1926 Mickey Walker decisioned Tiger Flowers in 10 rounds...Yes it was controversial, but because
Walker dropped Tiger Flowers twice he was given the nod...Remember
how unpopular was the decision when Tiger Flowers won over the faded Harry Greb in 1926 ? Or when Ali was given the nod over Ken Norton...
