Excluding Holmes and Tyson ,which ,if any of the 80s alphabet champs could get a win over a prime Joe Frazier?
For argument s sake we'll have Frazier from FOTC.

Spoon is the one who would give him the closest fight and he still would lose

Tony Tucker.. He ain't getting stopped by Joe. Good chin.. Enough power and fit enough to push Joe close.

The peak pinklon thomas of the weaver/tillis/witherspoon/coetzee fights ...may be an interesting fight...but id agree tony tucker has the best chance but he would lose too.......michael spinks gets wiped out...trevor berbick ,weaver, page, tate are all wiped out..smith takes a mauling over pts

Just thinking about Frazier getting dropped by Oscar B ,wonder if Weaver or Smith could duplicate that ?
Can't see either keeping Joe down , even Foreman couldn't ,but they could certainly bang .

How does pre Tyson Michael Spinks fare after beating Larry Holmes twice... Forget the Tyson fight happened and that The Jinx is coming in after beating Larry twice

I have to go Frazier by KO here , but maybe not the easiest of fights for Joe .spinks was crafty ,could hit a little and had fighting heart .I don't see him intimidated as against Tyson .
Joe wins but it takes a decent portion of the fight to do so .

Spinks movement could make it competitive early, especially since Frazier tended to start slow and Spinks would have no problem landing his own punches. But I think that Frazier tracks him down and mows him down eventually.

Ironically, I think Spinks in some ways would have a better chance at upsetting George Foreman than Frazier. On the other hand, I think Foreman has a better chance at instantly wiping Spinks out than Frazier.

Marvis beat Smith, but with the styles, I would expect Smith to have pulled a "Foreman" on Marvis. I wish it was on film so I could see how Marvis beat him.

Yes ,you'd have thought so ,especially when we saw Smith take out Witherspoon .But James was a very unpredictable guy , he could bang certainly , but as against Tyson turn in to a boring fighter. The first spoon fight he lost easily then he blasts him
He almost lost to Bruno yet he sent Ruddock crashing down .

Frazier would flog the heck out of Spinks. Spinks would seldom have the opportunity to open up offensively. Even against an old version of Holmes in the rematch he had to fight uber cautiously early and come on late when Holmes was tired. Frazier would be relentless once he got smokin' and there would be no letting up.

Spinks is one of the more underrated defensive fighters in history but Frazier just wouldn't give him the room or space over the duration. Frazier would be one of the hardest fighters to defeat ever imo for smaller guys moving up in weight.

Frazier would be a heavy favorite over all of the 80's guys as talented as some of them were.
