As a primer, he hasn't fought a top 20 guy in getting on to 4.5 years, has since had major, career threatening shoulder surgery, turned 35 in a division where smaller fighters age quicker, and gained 20 pounds on a frame and style that relys on speed. I'd pick the following: Wlad, Joshua, Wilder, Povetkin, Parker, Ortiz, Pulev, Duhaupas, Jennings, Stiverne maybe Takam and a solid shot to a few others
No way the likes of Duhaupas, Takam, Jennings etc beat Haye. Even a past prime Haye is levels above these dudes. The only guys who should be favorite over Haye on that list are Wlad, Ortiz, Joshua and Wilder.
No, those are the guys who would be favored over prime Haye. This Haye has shown no reason to believe he is a firm top 10 hw. If he was confident of his own abilities, he would be pressing for the WBO belt. He takes that belt and can have his pick of fights, and get no worse than 50% of the purse. Its a no brainier if he thought he'd beat Parker. But he doesn't, and he wouldn't.
It's obviously about $$ for Haye at this stage, why fight Parker for peanuts when he can get a huge domestic payday against Bellew? I doubt his team want anything to do with Haye anyway, at best that is a 50/50 fight for Parker.
I wouldn't put any money on Haye in a fight against Jennings, that's for darn sure... (actually, I really like the idea of Haye vs. Jennings) Lot of question marks for Haye when discussing his place among top HW's that fighting Tony Bellew will not come close to answering.
Only people to beat haye in my opinion are joshua wladimir and maybe Parker. There's no way duhaupas takam should be even mentioned in the same breath. What has old man luis ortiz done but knock out a few bums. Jennings is too chinny. As for usyk he's a small cruiser don't think his power would come up with him. March 4th will tell what kind of david haye is left from the 2011/12 one.
Because he's basically line up control of the division that way, by capturing a belt and increasing his negotiating power. Bellcow only gives him one payday. Parker, while not the initial payoff, would pay more long term dividends. But he knows he'd lose
It isn't Bellew I'll tell you that. As far as heavyweights go, Klitschko, Joshua, Ortiz, all beat him imo.
Ortiz ko a few bums? Wins over Jennings Thompson and Scott are as good as Hayes top three wins. Prime Haye loses to Ortiz. Current Haye gets blown out ina round or two. Hell, the win over Helenius Duhaupas is about as good as any win by Haye. Still, I wouldn't compare prime Haye with Duhaupas. But current Haye has a ton of legit question marks around him and there is plenty of reason to think he would lose. I know his psychotic fan base will never recognize it, even if he finally steps up and gets blown out, there will be some absurd excuse I'm sure
Always had questions about Haye at HW, beat a man for the title who's only quality was being 7ft, then defended against Fraudley Harrison and John Ruiz before trying to get the real version of the belt he held against Klitschko and embarrassing himself. The only good thing about the Chisora win is the fact he stopped him, which isnt easy
Malik Scott better than chisora or John ruiZ wat are u smoking a 44yr old tony Thompson better than chisora.??? Ortiz plodded against Scott for a UD. Get off the fence man ortiz is so slow only relies on power he wouldn't be able to hit haye. Ur off ur head.
