Except he signed on the dotted line twice for Fury and was ruled out by a cut and an injury. As for Briggs... well do you really think he's ducking an old man desperately seeking a final payday? Briggs is the kind of washed up never was Haye would love to con the public into paying him to knock out.
..Errr yarrrsss he's running so fast in the opposite direction he could pass Usain Bolt...Haye would not be able to KO briggs ...at ALL & he knows it. Haye wants all Ko's on his record to get him a title fight & make him "Look" like a legitimate HW ...which he is NOT!
Yeah Haye is not going for any belts at this stage it's all about the money with a divorce to pay for he's gonna need it. If Haye is struggling for money then what he did for Blackwell in giving him some of his purse was such a classy move on his part. I still think on his day Haye could beat anyone,I think he'll learn from his total non show against Wlad and will throw more punches cause one things for certain about Haye is power is not in question?
Hate Haye all you want but to condemn the man whilst acting like Briggs is any better is just stupid. Briggs would get stopped now. He's ancient and the only reason he hasn't been stopped on this comeback is that he has fought absolute no hopers. His run makes Arnold Garbage and Demori look good for crying out loud. He wanted to fight Haye on PPV which isn't viable unless a belts on the line. Now I have no doubt that snake oil salesman that Dave is the idea of beating up a well known, totally shot never was for decent money and a title is exactly what he'd like to foist upon the public but the demand isn't there. When it looked like that fight was likely everyone - rightly IMO - condemned him for taking such a **** fight.
Yeah as a promoter I just don't think Haye could pay out Briggs and what he was asking for, let's be honest here whilst Shannon Briggs has had a somewhat comical comeback with his catchphrase he's still a guy that only boxing fans know about. I wish Briggs all the best though cause even at his age when you see him box there's a skill there that many of today's heavyweights don't have.
He talks about wanting to achieve this and that and being ducked but he got offered a shot against Wilder - for rubbish money - and didn't take it. Had he picked up that strap he'd had a huge windfall in his next fight but he wasn't willing to back himself. Says it all really.
Briggs. I think Haye would have been able to bring good money to the table if Wilder were interested but Deontay doesn't seem keen to face off with anyone who can punch.
Wlad beats him. Joshua loses by KO Wilder loses by KO Povetkin loses by KO or SD Parker SD's him maybe Ortiz loses by UD Pulev loses by KO Duhaupas by KO Jennings loses by KO Stiverne loses by KO Takam loses by KO Haye may be a vomit, but that shouldn't detract from how talented and how hard a puncher he truly is.
