If Mayweather beat Mosley and Williams, he'd crack my top 20 easily. I like Floyd, but he just has a lot of ground to make up to catch Pacquiao. I'm not even sure if him beating Pacquiao would put him ahead of Pacquiao my list.

its all debatable of course, but Sugar Ray Leonard, Duran, Roy Jones, Whitaker, - Leonard and Duran i think are clear to me- but the others are close. and really debatable.

I think he has clearly surpassed Hearns, Hagler, Trinidad, Hopkins, Chavez,- then you have Oscar, Shane, Tyson, Calzaghe whom are at that next rung down i think. these guys he passed when he beat Hatton.

I take what you re getting at though. If Pac is top 3 of the past 25 years- then he must be around top 15 all time. I m almost ready to annoint him that- but really there is one more fight to go before we sign anything. Pac and Floyd have yet to fight the best opponent of their era. each other. That fight is for all the money, all the fans, all the marbles and all the legacy. should may win of course- but the winner will be top 10 all time i say- especially if its pac, if its floyd - top 15 (because by then he would have beaten mosely AND Pac. )

I think if he beats Mosley AND Pac- that would surely put him in the discussion.

I think all Pac needs to do from here is beat Floyd, and hes lock top 10. if he retires, comes back and beats a bradley or a valero on top of that- a years from now- then ****- theres nothing you cant deny -

anything on top of each other is for extra bonus points- their legacies would be set after beating each other.

**** it- let them do a trilogy- with a win each and a draw- and that in itself puts them BOTH in the top 15 I think.

    Why?

Whitaker is comfortably top 20, but Pacquiao is pretty much there as well now. To suggest otherwise is simply era-bias, which infests this site. Nobody ever rates an active fighter with past greats because of nostalgia for the "glory days". Word of advice, Pacquiao could well retire one of THE greats of the sports. Cherish his fights while they last.
