Can you imagine the hysteria Bob Fitzimmons and Sam Langford would have provoked? Dominating all the way from Middle to Heavy?

Joe Louis would have made people insane...Harry Greb too.

Rightly so in a lot of cases. These are some special fighters. But I think you mean insane levels of devotion, these would be the ones I think.

Ali for sure, Chavez, Ray Leonard would have the DLH camp, Whitaker the Floyd camp, Hearns would have the Trinidad camp, Manicini the Gatti camp, Rosario the Cotto camp. In other words boxing has always been like this.

no all-time great, even robinson, greb, ali, louis, wilde, etc.....could equal the moronic nuthugging of the klitschko fanboys and the oscarsexuals.

Yes, you can. Michael Jordan is a megarich guy who was phenomenally good at basketball. And so ****ing what? What has Michael Jordan actually done to warrant devotion aside from work hard to keep playing a game he loved and dominated at any level?

****, if you give me the ability to average 60 in Test cricket, so I can play the game I love all the time until my late 30s and end up a multimillionaire cricket legend, I'll practice cricket 10 hours a day. It won't make me the type of God on Earth a lot of these morons seem to make their heroes though.
