A lot of guys have fought & beaten great names... but at the same time some of these great fighters feast on old & broken down/ gun shy fighters... who are some great/all time great fighters who beat the most prime opponents?
Be very hard to pin down one answer because of the vastly differing opinions on the meaning of great and when a fighter is truly in their prime. Even the most objective person is going to be inconsistent with their criteria sometimes because they have their favorites. When it comes down to who did the "most" of something in boxing..Your best bet is nearly always Greb. But Id give guys like Canzoneri, Armstrong and McLarnin a shout too.
:goodGreb is a good call. Same with the old standard, Sugar Ray Robinson. Amiddle their resumes are as good as it gets when it comes to prime, great fighters Canzoneri is a great one to, across 3 weight classes (while rarely actually moving up much in weight) he had a fantastic record against the elite. JCC should get a mention as should Duran. The quality of opponents varied but they took on a TON of contenders in their primes
Archie Moore has got to be up there, although he lost a lot of fights but he did face many great fighters.
Duran gets credit for beating opponents who are prime? But they were not all time greats? Leonard was not even prime when Duran beat him, and then Ray won the rematch and rubbermatch easily. Leonard is the one who beat prime guys who were great.. Sugar Ray Leonard.
Thomas Hearns beat great guys for 3 of his titles, and one of them (Roberto Duran) should have been a unification.
