ali....i dont know if that is an obvious answer or not. stops george foreman with a right cross, hurt frazier badly, spraked an old by savy archie moore, stopped liston with a single shot....and if you dont take that then look at the fight before when he is tearing his face apart, hurt quarry, stopped london, left hook combination sparks bonavena, single right cross stops blinn, single right lead stops zora these are guys who can look after themselves and yet they are getting taken out with the ali lead right cross and left hook. pernell to me seems to hit harder unaccording to his record. it was almost like he couldnt be ****ed to ko him...instead just clown and make his man look a fool. his ko of hurtardo was a showing of what happends when he needs a ko. hurtardo was living with tszyu for a decent amount of time.
I was gonna mention Pernell as well..he didnt have KO power, but he proved he could slow someone down with a good body attack.
Really? Id say he has some of the most overrated power.. I mean, he was an accumulative type guy, but people run around acting like he was Julian Jackson or some ****.. One thing about Hagler, hes so damn well rounded its hard to pick his best attribute.
Definately rounded, but 52 KO's from 67 bouts (62 wins) speaks loudly. Still can't beleive he opened up orthodox against SRL and handed Leonard the first 3 or 4 rounds on a plate. One of his only career mistakes IMO.
Kid Gavilan. He didn't KO many guys, but he was a stining, discouraging puncher. Charley Burley hit very very hard and oftentimes doesn't get that credit, I think because he was a poor finisher. Lots of guys quit against him, he just beat guys down.
Whitaker hit a lot better than people think, although i think it was more his speed that got guys along w his precision. But very few ran right in on him w/out paying the price. Oscar sure didn't.:bbb
