Which alphabet organisation do you take THE MOST serious?

Its the only belt that has any semblance if credibility. When "The Ring" started this some years back it made perfect sense as the Alphabet soup was just a joke. Its now tainted somewhat as they're no longer truly impartial as they've been bought by Golden Boy. Still of all the belts there's makes the most sense as the fighter that holds it is the BEST fighter in the division.

Incidentally the worst out of that list is the WBU. They were an organization ran from a cottage in Norwich. I dont think there domain is even live anymore and their website is gone. They had rankings but mandatory's were never enforced. The belt was throughly meaningless. They even went as far as having Intercontinental and International Belts. Sports Network aka Warren and co repeatedly used it on SKY advertising under the auspices of "World Tidal" boxing. ****ing tragic. Johnny Nelson, Ricky Hatton, Johnny Armour, Gary Lockett Anthony Farnell etc all made a nice living off that belt and the paying fans expense.

 

in fairness the ring don't seem to be pro gbp. i agree the wbu is the worst of the **** ones as they actually got some fame.Also the ufc hyping toney as a worldchamp because of his iba title was laughable

WBO and IBF

Except I did read about how the IBF had a huge legal issue where Bob Arum had to go to court and admit paying off IBF officials to name some nobody as George Foreman's mandatory in his last few fights. The WBC is just weak as **** when it comes to stripping people, not allowing people to win the belt despite fighting for it, equally garbage rankings to the rest of them, and the "silver" joke. The WBA has something like 36 champions in the 17 divisions, so....

The Ring is the mecca of all belts.

 

The UFC were desperate to sell that fight. To the point of photoshopping Toneys pictures and claiming he was a World Champ. Pretty much shows what the UFC are about. If you ask me their worse than the Alphabet mess we have in boxing.

 

Wow, the WBA gets less votes than the WBO? I always thought the WBO as #4 of the Big Four.

 

IBF and WBO are the best but the only one that actually matters is The Ring.

It is. It has much less legitimacy than the "Big 3". The WBA is the oldest belt. Its also currently the most corrupt.

So what? What exactly does that prove? That the fight was competitive? If it was sooo competitive why would the UFC pay Toney a much larger salary then many of its current crop of fighters? Photoshop his pictures and pretend that Toney was in shape when he clearly was not. And then Sell Toney as a world titlist when he is not? O yea

 

Yeah, I don't count Haye as a Heavyweight champion yet and until Khan beats Bradley and Alexander then he is the same.

thought that WBA,WBC,WBO were considered the main 3. but defo not the best ones neccesarily.

the ring seems to count as the main one if its won by fighting the top guy,or beating the guy that beat the top guy ect.

maybe boxers all need to come together and create a boxers union.

then they can all sign and create/decide on the best belt,or a new belt as the one belt that is the only proper title belt with proper people at the organization doing decent rankings and being fair with mandatories ect ect.

one world title belt per division to to rule them all!!.(and maybe lessen how many divisions there are at the moment too)

 

Would be nice in an ideal world. Unfortunately the top fighters in each division rarely fight.
