I don't know and this will probably be disputed anyway as different sources list different heights, but of the old timers: Ben Moroz 7' 1" and Gil Stromquist 6' 8 1/2" boxrec lists Moroz as 6' 8" but having seen a picture of him posing with Jack Johnson and looking at his physique and weight of about 300 lbs, I think more than 7' is probably reasonable. Big Ben ko'd Stromquist twice, in 4 and in 1.
OLD FOGEY, you topped me.I had in mind Primo Carnera/6ft.6 against Ray Impellittiere/6ft.8" Incidentally, as a youngster, my dad took me to my first pro card in 1942,at St.Nicholas Arena NY...The main event was between a great new senbsation Beau Jack vs tough Terry Young from NY...And in the semi finals,who but your pick Big Ben Moroz@ 7ft or over.His opponent was a great new prospect,and Golden Glove champ Buddy Moore, who stopped the giant Ben Moroz...That night I will never forget...To see a young Beau Jack ,hooked me to boxing forever...b.b.
How tall do you think Moroz was? What was your impression of Buddy Moore? He was considered the best amateur heavyweight prospect since Louis came along, but his career sputtered out. Do you have any thoughts on why?
Big Ben Moroz was i'm sure 7.1" at least. After hic career he became a bouncer at the Roseland dance hall NY. I recall Buddy Moore was never "the new Joe Louis", in his short career, but he was a great Golden Glove Champion before the war...But Moroz was OVER 7 ft,that I,m certain of... What a shame fans today missed the young Beau Jack, who sold out MSG,seven times I believe in one year...A meteor who burned out too quickly was Beau Jack.....

Tallest good fighters? Carnera and Vittorio Campolo would have to be considered. Carnera was champion and about 6' 6". Campolo was in the Ring's yearly top ten rankings and was even taller, possibly about 6' 9".
I am going to answer this first without seeing the other answers. I would say combined two tallest ever bout was Lewis vs. Akinwande.
