Choi usually fights at 126 lbs, but he's fought at 130+ a couple of times too. I am assuming he'd beat the **** out of all British featherweights, at 126.

But how many top British superfeatherweights and lightweights do you think he'd beat, AT THEIR OWN WEIGHTCLASS, if any?

    Any of these superfeatherweights?

    Nicky Cook
    Kevin Mitchell
    Alex Arthur
    Carl Johanneson
    Ricky Burns
    Stephen Foster
    Ryan Barrett
    Gary Sykes
    Vinny Mitchell
    James Ancliff

    Any of these lightweights?

    Jonathan Thaxton
    John Murray
    Henry Castle
    Amir Khan
    Willie Limond
    Martin Gethin
    Lee Meager
    Ryan Brawley
    John Fewkes
    Craig Docherty

    ...yap...top 10 according to boxrec.:good

I'd love it if Martinez pulls out of the Cook fight and Choi gets called up as a replacement. He deserves a shot.

I think Cook would win on points but Choi would make it competitive. Cook is just a level above Choi and Choi would be stepping up in weight.

So, from the list, which ones would you pick to lose to Choi?

IMO he'd have a good chance against Johanneson, Vinny Mitchell, maybe Sykes and Khan and Castle because of their chins.

Don't know enough about Barrett, Brawley, Ancliff and Docherty to make a pick.

I suspect Choi could beat many of these if he turned up with the same intensity as against Matthews. The chances of him replicating that level of performance are diminishing each passing day. A crying shame. Presuming he performs like this:

    Certainties to strongly favoured:

    Vinny Mitchell
    James Ancliff?!
    Ryan Barrett
    Craig Docherty
    John Fewkes
    Carl Johanneson
    Ryan Brawley
    Lee Meager
    Martin Gethin

    >50% chances:

    Ricky Burns
    Stephen Foster Jr
    Henry Castle

    50/50 chance:

    Alex Arthur
    Nicky Cook
    Kev Mitchell
    Willie Limond
    Amir Khan

    Tough asks:

    John Murray
    Jon Thaxton

    Never seen him fight:

    Gary Sykes

As many as that? Even if he only had a good chance against half of these , that would still be very, very impressive.

It looks better than it is in quantity. For example, Vinny Mitchell is a rank novice and has already been hurt a few times. Barrett Ancliff and Docherty are pretty much journeyman material IMO. These are four that have no business even fighting a WBU champ!

Brawley and Fewkes and maybe even Burns have zero power to keep a guy like Choi off. You gotta have some power to beat this guy I think.

I think Meager and Johanneson have seen better days. Don't really see them living with that version of Choi.

A lot of the others could be very interesting indeed. I wouldn't rule out the chance of some big shocks. There are some porus defences and questionable chins in the mix.

    Carl Johanneson
    Ricky Burns
    Stephen Foster
    Ryan Barrett
    Gary Sykes
    Vinny Mitchell
    James Ancliff

That was a long long time ago.

Choi is definitely a late bloomer. I think he's in the best form of his career right now, which is why Frank needs to get him some fights.

It would be nice if we could decide that for ourselves...a year out at 37 is career threatening
