in the past 10 years, direll vs froch might be the biggest robbery at that level. that was an utter schooling.

I thought the Bradley vs Pacquiao I decision was horrendous. Certainly up there with the "WTF were they looking at?" list of judging goofs.

In recent history Mosley-De La Hoya II. It screwed up the Jr.MW division for a while.

Mayweather-Castillo I. That gift changed Floyd. After that he became a mostly defensive fighter. He went from being a defensive counter puncher like James Toney or Pernell Whittaker to a full blown runner and hugger, very much like but more skilled than Erislandy Lara.

It also allowed for fighters to get away with doing the most minimal amount of fighting and still win fights.

Andrew Golota-John Ruiz (Golota floored him repeatedly, Ruiz's trainer got kicked out of the corner because he thought they were losing, and they gave it to Ruiz.)

Roy Jones-Park Si Hun (There was video of a Korean official offering gold to a judge before the fight, another judge not working the fight admitted he was offered gold by the Korean official if he was assigned to the fight ... worst blatant "bribery" ever.)

Rid**** Bowe-Evander Holyfield II (Bowe lost his title via majority decision in a fight where he OUTLANDED his challenger by 100 punches, and in a fight that was delayed for an extended period by the Fan Man. Everyone seemed happy for Evander, but Bowe won that fight. Some boxers don't land a 100 punches in a whole fight. Bowe landed that many MORE than Holyfield and lost. Terrible. Everyone was blinded by all the extraneous noise going on.)

Norman Stone was hilarious and crazy. Both fighters punched after the bell at the end of round 1, the ref tries to break it up, and Stone comes running across the ring to Golota's corner and puts his fist up at Golota's trainer like he was going to hit him.

Then later on referee Randy Newman called for time in the action because Ruiz's glove tape got loose. Stone somehow though Ruiz had a lot of momentum at this moment, erupted, and called the ref a "f----- as-----", with the great quote "what a piece of s--- you turned out to be! What a f---- piec e of s---!".

Then the next time the tape glove went loose, Newman told Stone to re-do the tape and Stone gives it back to the ref and goes "you do it, f----- j---off"

Newman kicks Stone out, and then you see Stone in the dressing room cussing and saying "I never said nothing to the ref", followed by the biggest laugh I have ever heard from Larry Merchant.

Golota only scored one legit KD that should have counted. For the 2nd KD, he sort of shoved Ruiz down, hit him on the top of the head when Ruiz was on the floor. As usual, a guy gets hit when he is down, but no one cares, because he doesn't pull an acting job.

I'm not one to take Compubox seriously, but I agree with the sentiment that no one seems to dispute this decision or consider it controversial, it could have easily been a draw or Bowe win, and I think Holyfield being more likeable than Bowe and an underdog plays a big part in it.

Holyfield and others claim that Bowe was tired and ready to be taken when Fan Man came down in the 7th. But if you watch the previous 3 rounds, it looked like Bowe had turned the momentum back in his favor. Holyfield hurt Bowe late in round 5, and had a solid round 6. But Bowe finished round 6 strong, and was having an excellent round 7. He was controlling it with his jab, throwing it like he should have, and then Fan Man crashed down.

If the tables were turned, I'm sure a lot of people would say it was an injustice for Holyfield, but again, the underdog role and likeability is a big reason I think why hardly anyone complains.

Also, Bowe himself was very gracious when he lost and didn't complain.

    Groves - Froch I

As a Brit, I usually root for the underdog. I liked Froch right up until the Groves fight. He acted like a d*ck, thinking he was better than him, that he was gunna walk right through a young up and coming guy who seemed to be humble. The fight lived up beyond expectation for me. A great fight on its way to becoming a legendary fight until Howard Foster called it too soon. Ruining the ending and not letting them fight it out. Post fight Froch was begging for praise instead of being honest. Groves got all the fans booing him, on his side. It wasn't until the promo for the second fight, that I started to like Froch again because he was humble. Groves acted like he was better then him and that he was gunna walk right through him. Tables turnt again.

For British boxing, Foster made a great choice ending that fight.

Groves may well have been ruined with Froch in all out attack mode for the next 3 and a half rounds too.
