You expected to have a lot of fun and excitement but it made you greatly disappointed instead. You can add other big fights if you wish. BTW, I didn't mean that your favorite fighter got beaten by his opponent that made you disappointed, OK? But I mean the poor performances in those fights.
Trinidad-De La Hoya. Because I had much higher expectations for it. Two undefeated future HOF fighters, at or very close to their peak. We got a decent fight at best, a crappy ending, a controversial decision, and no rematch.
Im gonna catch hell for this but................ Larry Holmes was my childhood hero. He was robbed vs Michael Spinks. I wanted to see young Mike Tyson punish him. SO when he basically laid the hell down.....he so mcuh as quit....I was definitely disapointed. I was disappointed the Haye ran from Wlad for all but about 12 seconds of the entire fight, but I was impressed that he was able to take the few flush jabs Wlad was able to land.
De La Hoya/Trinidad - only because of the insane hype it got. Was billed as Fight of the Century and failed to live up to it. other fights - De La Hoya/Mosley II - disappointing. I was expecting something close to the 1st fight. Lewis/Tua - was hoping for a better performance by Tua. Pacquiao/Barrera II - not what I was expecting.
BTW, Spink v.s. Tyson was one of the most disappointed fights in the history of boxing. Spink didn't come to fight, but he just came to collect a cheque and left the show.
Pre the fight I expected Ortiz to really try to bully Floyd and preassure him to eventually land some bombs. (The kind of stuff he was just starting to do when it all went wrong). I with hindsight quite wrongly was one of the people pre the fight that started to belive the hype that Ortiz could cause some problems. I know, I belived the hype!!! :-(
The UK hype pre the fight was intoxicating saying how Haye would kick ass. Many many many probabaly most top UK pundits and fans belived the hype although they won't admit it now. Another fight where I believed the hype! :-(
David Gaye. a lot of people have been spelling his name wrong for a very long time. It's David GAYE. No H.
Ooh yeah...This one too made me sleepy and drowsy but DLH was the one who made it boring not Trinidad. He didn't try to make it fun at all. Trinidad tried to press the action but DLH kept running away all the time.
The Wlad vs Haye fight... Haye did so little that Wlad didn't even have to take a risk to win the rounds, wich made it extremely boring. That plus the constant flopping and the expected KO that didn't came (while I paid good money to see that loudmouth getting KO'd) dissapointed me greatly.
