Ray Robinson of course, seems like a lot here have picked up on that.
Like it that Pac and Floyd aren't getting much votes at all, bit of rational thinking here on ESB.
Missing some big names in the poll like Langford, Pep and Louis, or at least an "other" option. but it says "from the following", so that's fair I guess.

What the **** is wrong with you. Mayweather above Ali, Armstrong, and Duran. Chavez above Duran. And how high you have Jones. Everything in your list is wrong. I mean personally I feel Duran should go above SRL. Yeah SRL had a better career at WW and above. But Duran dominated LW and had a million times more longevity. But fine I'll let you have Duran below SRL; they still have to be close. I mean you could put the names in a hat draw randomly and get better results then that. The only thing you seemed to get right was SRR belongs at #1 and Tyson belongs at 10. Everything else is wrong with your list.

Why does all of a sudden Floyd's name has come out along with these old timers like SRR, Armstrong, Duran etc who already had fought and already in hundred wars compare his age now. Mayweather should have somehow erudite from those greats by learning to fight anyone.

Gone with Duran as I haven't seen enough of Robinson or Armstrong to vote for them truthfully saying they're the best I've ever seen.

Everyone knows Sven Ottke and Zsolt Erdei are the best fighters of all time. There is no blueprint on how to beat them. 66 have tried, 66 have failed.

I took "The Greatest" to mean a little more than just who was the best fighter.

In that respect I picked Ali as he was hugely influential outside of the ring as well.

You guys do realize two things, one Floyd isn't retired so might very well not remain undefeated, 2 even if he does he will not be anywhere close to the only undefeated retired fighter. He doesn't even have the most wins Marciano, Calzaghe both have him beat. Simply having a 0 in your loss column does not make you the greatest fighter ever. Guys like SRR, Duran, and Armstrong have losses because they ****ing pushed themselves. Armstrong simultaniously held belts in 3 different weight classes, when there were only 8. Yeah he took some losses no **** look at what he did. This undefeated bull**** needs to stop. Berto isn't better then Pac just because Berto is undefeated. Similarly Mayweather isn't better then SRR just because May is undefeated.

Some of Robinsons best wins at 160 were in the rematches with guys like Fullmer and Basilio and Turpin who all beat Ray convincingly - to come back and reverse those losses in brutal fashion when in his mid 30's is testament to true greatness.

for me its : Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson

These two are at the very pinnacle of boxing immortality - the next guys on the list dont even come close.
