I appreciate you rate Joe Calzaghe highly but his hands were too brittle to destroy like he did pre-prime, in most of his prime he just outboxed people really.

If it weren't for them then perhaps he could have fit his whole series of WBO defenses into a one night fight card.

    We will never know though.

Any news on Alex these days? I also remember him coming up ! He seems to get alot of stick but i thought he was a dangerous fighter who lost his way after the Dixon shocker. Remember he blasted bernard benton...

Yey he was pretty good but his head blew up and he believed his clippings as the Next Mexican heavyweight Hope. He wasnt even training when he fought Dixon and never took his career seriously after that loss. His wins over Mike"giant"white was an awesome ko (a guy who beat Buster Douglas) and also the knockout over Mike Williams a former prospect of the year by ring Magazine and a guy who reportdly dropped Tyson in sparring were impressive. But he didnt look too good after losing too Dixon. Just seemed to be collecting a check after that. Did you know that he was offered over 500,000 big ones to fight Foreman instead said hed wait after another fight and got kod by Dixon for 10,000$. He had natural skills after being released from San Quentin he decided to take up boxing with no prior boxing ground he was National Golden gloves champ within a year and fighting the great Teofilo Stevenson right after that. He was stopped by Stevenson in 3 round. He turned pro after that so actually he came up pretty quick for starting boxing so late.
I dont know what hes doing now, last time i saw him was at the Olympic auditorium he was checking out my girlfriend (at the time) and he didnt recognize me after that we had small talk and he gave of us a couple bags of Peanuts Lol. Camacho was fighting that night. I also saw him on a Tv Show called ressurection Blvd he played a trainer and Jeremy Williams was his fighter. He was a good puncher but his chin and undiscipline were his downfall.

That might not have been too hard in the late 19th century when results were rarely recorded.

Promotors tried to keep their young prospects oth of the public eye untill as close to their prime as possible, so that they could get long odds betting on them. Somtimes they were incredibly sucesfull and their prospect was virtualy unknown untill he was at world level.

Tom King is a good example of this.

Foreman fought the "Toronto 5" or whatever it was on national TV in one night so I guess he might be able to do it
