For me it was pascal. before the froch fight i saw him as a pretty boy wo didnt like to take punches. but the way he traded with froch after the disastrous first round, he began to win me over. then seeing him war with diacanou one handed won me over even more. especially after granting a rematch. going into the dawson fight i was a fully fledged pascal fan.

    Sergio Martinez.

Found myself cheering for him to KO pavlik when the announcers tried to make it sound like Pavlik was coming back and maybe even winning.

Hard not to like an underdog who keeps getting the short end of the stick.

    Jermain Taylor.

During his time as HBO's undefeated golden boy I really didn't like him.

Since then he's made me a huge fan with his courageous displays of heart (albeit mostly in losses) and I've learned to appreciate his reign in hindsight.

Froch - Back when he was still mixing it around waiting on the domestic scene with the likes of Dodson and Reid, I thought he was arrogant from what I'd read and the way he was chasing Calzaghe and talking about him.

The Pascal fight truely turned me into a fan, really early on. I was still cheering him on because I wanted another British world champion, but the heart and toughness he showed in that fight really made me into a fan.

From then on, it's been all the same. Tremendous heart to not give up and come from behind to beat Taylor, took some monster shots from Kessler in another battle. The opposition he has faced since getting his belt has been so refreshing in a day and age when we often see fighters protected and concerned about their record [*cough* a certain super-middle before him *cough*].

Wlad Klitschko - Used to find him boring back before I really appreciated the art of the sweet science and just wanted to see brawls all the time. Also didn't like him because of his fans, which was stupid because no fan should influence your opinion or respect for a boxer. And he was just a future victim for Haye in my eyes.

But I've grown to like him over the last 18 months or so. I appreciate the technical subtleties to his game and his consistently and dominance and the way he sticks to a gameplan and executes it perfectly, doing what he needs to to win and making things easy on himself. And also how despite being around in what is a relatively poor era, he's taking on the best guys around like Peter [when he was unbeaten], Ibragimov, Chagaev, Chambers at their respective times trying to create a legacy for himself.

especially after round 7 ( i think) when pavlik had scored the knockdown and probably started being ahead, for him to come out with them left straights and effectively blind pavlik was amazing.

ye i was thinking about this recently. for all his stick he beat joppy, hopkins, spinks and ouma, as well as having a close draw with wright. he did alright in his reign IMO. easily the most complete resume since hopkins anyways.

Froch..... I cant even describe the hate I had for this guy at first.

Now I find him as a cool guy and pretty funny also.

Ironically I use to like Dirrell and hated Froch for getting a gift and acting like the fight wasn't close.....However I now think Dirrell is possibly one of the biggest bitches in the sport. a complete coward cry baby punk.
