I wanted to vote for both Arturo Gatti and Rocky Marciano. Given I had to pick one, had to be Gatti

I don't think you can go far too wrong with Holyfield to be honest. I'd say Holyfield.

I don't know how you can really separate someone like Matthew Saad Muhammad from Evander Holyfield or Bobby Chacon in terms of heart and "warrior spirit".

Man a lot of quality here to choose from. The 1st guy that came to mind for me was hagler TBH. But, I would have to say a guy like harry greb who fought over 100x and beat more HOF'ers than anyone else. greb often fought every week and did so while blind in one eye. Also, according to historians he often fought "off the record" for money even sometimes on the same night as prize fights.

    Thats pretty bad ass!

When fighters say "I'm willing die in the ring", I usually take it with a grain of salt. They're human and have breaking points, and I don't blame them one bit.

Diego Corrales was one guy that was tough/crazy enough that I believed it from him.

Joe Frazier got knocked down 6 times in Jamaica by George Foreman. And his crazy ass got up six times and was willing to go on, but luckily the fight was stopped.

    Beat me to it^^!!!

CHacon was one of the the first fighters i became a fan of when i started watching boxing.. And although he was highly skilled, it was his heart and amazing comebacks that made him my favorite. I remember one of his fights with Boza and i was wondering what the hell is wrong with the ref for not stopping it,,, he was behind and taking monsterous shots,,,, Came back in the end to ko Boza in the late rounds.. THis was a regular thing for him when he moved up to JL.. My alll time fav fight is Bazooka Limon-Bobby Chacon (t think the 4th one)... Same thing .... Was Gatti before Gatti but with more skills (no disrespect to Arturo RIP)... I thought they stopped the fight with Mancini to fast,, Chacon was past it and Mancini in his prime but, Chacon was giving it back too, and anyone who saw Chacon knows they should have let that fight continue.. Would have been a classic, was turning into a great fight.

    Holyfield
    Gatti
And Saad i get the feeling we startted watching boxing in hte same era Thread Stealer.

THeres so many more but those 4 were the first to come to mind.

Vargas too might have lost most of his biggest fights, but he had big balls in fact too much for his own good.

I started watching regularly in 1991, I'm 30 right now, but I watch a lot of older fights.

The ending of Vazquez-Marquez 3 reminds me of Chacon-Limon 4. Scoring KDs in the waning seconds of the fight, and the guys win the decisions by a single point.

That Saad-Johnson highlight above is from my YT channel if you want to watch a lot of boxing highlights.
