You certainly can make a good case for Pacquiao, but I still believe he lacks the ability to mix up his punches with the same punching creativity as Calzaghe, nor does he approach from as many angles as Calzaghe.

Calzaghe punished Lacy for 12 rounds and failed to KO him. Let a man stand in front of Pacman and be hit over 1000 times for 12 rounds and see if he is still standing. Calzaghe lacks serious power, he also slaps rather than punch which is a big minus in terms of judging offensive arsenal. IMO Pac also has a better mix of punches, he has one of the most dangerous punches in his str8 left and a very dangerous right hook. None of Joe's punches are to be feared as much as those 2. Joe is certainly very good offensively but he is not complete, he lacks power and he lacks that punch that scares the crap out of people. Wlad has his straight right and left hook, Cotto & Hatton has their left to the body, Floyd has his right hand lead etc.

Pac certainly has more power than Joe -- no argument there. But I also believe that Calzaghe hits acceptably hard. He did knock Lacy down and also hurt Kessler, two guys with good or very good (in Lacy's case) chins.

I disagree that Manny has a better mix of punches. He's no longer a one-two fighter exclusively, but he still relies heavily on that combination. The right hook is the wrinkle that's taken him to the next level, yet I still do not see a whole lot of diversity in his game.

He's still a rhythm fighter and can be exploited by an elite counterpuncher, such as Marquez did in their first fight. He also was unable to figure out Morales in their first fight. The 2000s Calzaghe has put offense on everyone he's fought, if not stoppages.

Joe fights out of cadence more than Pacquiao, which is why I believe he's better able to adapt to an opponent.

But as said, you can make a case for Pacquiao as well. He's definitely an offensive terror, and at 122 I'd argue that he was simply too fast and powerful for everyone, wrinkles or no wrinkles.

I chose Manny Pac over Wlad and Pavlik Because I beleive Pacmans speed and better Defense make his Offense that much more complete than Wlad or Pavlik. I also chose Manny over Cotto because Manny style is more effective where as Pacman wastes less punches than does Cotto, however Cotto has improved leaps and bounds in that area.

I was wondering where the PW choice was. His punch output, his jab and his straight right are enough to qualify him as an offensive weapon.

Good argument except both examples you showed of him failing to impose his offense was before he ironed out the, in your own words "wrinkles thats taken him to the next level".

Pac can mix up his combination, he can hit with either hands, he can go to the body and up, he can hit you going back and stun you at that.

He did knock Lacy down and in many cases, that fight would have been stopped. However it wasnt and I cant help but think that had it been a slow plodding fighter Pac could land at will on in front of him, he really wouldnt have lasted the distance. he KO'd both MAB & Morales, guys whos chins are as proven if not more proven than Lacy's.

While lacking power, he sure belongs to that list much more than PBF or JMM.
