all those guys have very potent offensive arsenals. but i'd probably say pac since all he's got going for him is that 1-2, but it is effective to the point that he's reached a very high level. if rafael marquez was still a 118 lber, i'd probably be inclined to vote for him. perfect combination of technique and power.

I guess you don't understand boxing then. JMM is a counterpuncher, and even if he does it for defense, punches landed are still offense.

Floyd is not purely a defensive fighter, far from it. He has an extensive offensie arsenal. He has a brilliant straight right hand (both a counter and lead), a brilliant left hook (both a counter as observed in the Hatton fight, and lead like in the Corrales fight). He has a fantastic counter right uppercut, a good left AND right hook to the body, and he has a fantastic jab to the body. He doen't use it to hurt people (except in certain opponents such as Judah and Gatti) but he is able to step into his jabs to the solarplexus so well that they actually have good power for a jab, and do the job of lowering his opponents hands perfectly...

And he can throw these punches at a variety of anles.

PBF is a GREAT defensive fighter, but due to his great Detroit/oldschool dfensive style his defensive an offense work at the same time. Some say that when he turns to the side and sticks his shoulder up he's goingn into a 'defensive shell', but as Floyd is one of the best counterpunchers in the game, he's still dangerous when he's defending. He blends his defense with his offense perfectly, he doesn't have to just do one or the other, he does both at the same time.

And many seem to forget that except for recent fights like Judah, DLH, Baldomir, etc etc., MANY of Floyd's fights have ended in knockouts. And pretty exciting ones at that!

Great post, most people don't realize just how good Mayweahter's offense is. One poster claimed that Mayweather is a terrible combination puncher.

I think it would have to be either Joe Calzaghe or Floyd Mayweather --
Even though some people might not agree these are two of the most accurate punchers in the business. You may also have an arguement for Wlad Klitschko as well.

I think an offensive fighter is a fighter that throws alot of punches, different types of punches, and gives his opponent different looks and angles.
I guess effective aggression can contribute to a good offense as well.

Not only hte most accurate, but they are accurate whilst making their oponants miss. Now I know this is the best "offense", but in my eyes, a good offense includes having a good defense.

I have to go with JMM. This man uses every punch in the book, and is extremely effective with all of them. Let alone, he can fight outside, inside, moving foward, moving backward, leading, counter punching, ect.... all equally effective. This is one boxer who doesn't have anything missing in his offense game.

These guys are all flawed defensively but do have superior offensive arsenals to many listed in the poll
