If you had to choose one American boxer in the past 10 years and point to him as representative of all that is boxing in America, which one would you choose?

Areola: A perfect example of overweight, un-prepared, wasted talent, with serious delusions of glory & entitlement.

That's USA boxing in a nutshell.

    Sigh ....

    Oscar?

Unless your trying to ask for the African American school of boxing.

Mayweather is the most recognisable name in American boxing and the best they have to offer . . .

Lamon Bewster of the first Klitschko fight. He was willing to go to war, went to hell and gave Satan himself the finger.

During the press conference he said that Wladimir would have to kill him or he will be heavyweight champion of the world. He brought pictures of his deceased trainer to the ring and had Buffer announce that night was dedicated to Slayton. In the fight he was hurt and knocked down yet fought through it all and came out victorious.

This is the most honest post I have ever written on ESB. And, Klitschko fan or not, maybe now you understand why I despise some Klitschko fans and their excuses for Wladimir's and Vitali's losses (vaseline etc.).

There is a man who gave it all he had got and his defeated opponent's fans try to take that away from him. I cannot accept that as it is genuinely wrong.

I also had Lamon Brewster on my mind:good.. If he could have beaten the Klitschko brothers, then he would for damn sure have been the top name in America..
But since Wlad stopped him, he isnt a well known name among the casual fans..
