    Roberto Duran.

In modern era, a guy like Canelo is quite amazing. Not only does he feint in the traditional way (i.e. pretending to throw a punch and not actually throwing), he is also a master at misdirecting people.

For example, he will lower his left hand down to his hip pretending to throw a left hook to the body and then go upstairs with it. Look at this one vs GGG. One of the best feints i have ever seen.

I remember JMM feinting a left uppercut letting Pacquiao move across him and hitting him with the straight right and a single tear streaked my cheek.

Jones Jr was quick with them, more likely to cause a reaction then. I mean real quick

    Duran
    (Benny) Leonard
    Hopkins
    RJJ
    Toney
    McCallum
    Bob Foster
I think Wilfredo Gomez has underrated feints,he threatens his opponents with his half jab so much they end up eating several body blows and precise hooks, uppercuts plus overhands that crumbled them.

Most great fighters were great at feints .
It's almost as important as having a great jab!
Some just disguised it better than others.
Like Hagler would use a feint, to switch at times, he'd use a feint on a jab from an orthodox stance, slip over to south paw, and nail his opponents with a lead straight left hand, done so seamlessly it's hard to see.
Ray Leonard, Hearns ( Watch him throw a jab and LOOK ! At Duràns body, only to come over the top with that fight ending right hand)
Benitez, Robinson, Sanchez, Chavez, Ali, Louis , Marciano, ( looking at Walcott's chest, but loading up the Suzy Q to his chin)
All the ATG's use feints in one form or the other.

This is a very nice, neat, short video package exemplifying Liston’s employment of the jab feint.

When you've got such a great jab with that sort of fierce power a good feint game can cause overreactions, leading to openings which we saw there. Nice clip Pug!

    Exactly champ.

Hammer that telephone pole jab into someone’s face a few times and you would have them twitching at even the slightest hint that it’s coming their way again.

Liston had an excellent boxing IQ atop his formidable armoury otherwise.

Love the jab turned hook/uppercut also.

Liston may be underrated these days - but it seems to me that many who don’t rate him so high are well guilty of woefully underrating him - and, tbh, I totally don’t get that.

Fearsome puncher Louis could also engender those manipulated reactions with feints.

Boxer/punchers - one of the very best types of fighters to be imo - the type of fighter I’d want to be at any rate.

Respectable puncher Carlos Monzon wasn’t too shabby with the feints either.

I love me a good boxer/puncher and obviously Liston is one of them. Duran too. Leonard, Hearns, the list goes on. Monzon was a very solid package, overall. Liston's skills are pretty obvious, really, and the deeper you look the more you see.

Springs, one of the best ever posters here, was a monumental fan. He apparently devoted an entire chapter to Liston in Gods of War. One of his comments was - “At times Sonny’s skillful slips and counters could make James Toney raise an eyebrow.” I need to get that book.
