There seems to be a diminishing number of boxers who can draw strong crowds in their home area/region. What boxers do you know of that can still always count on getting excellent support at home? Especially, which one's aren't necessarily national attractions, but are just very popular at home?

Obviously, Kelly Pavlik is big in Youngstown and Eastern Ohio/West PA, and Cotto will always draw well at the Garden, but I'm more interested in guys like Fernando Guerrero who has drawn 5k+ to two fights in his hometown of Salisbury, MD - a place which barely shows up on most maps.

Other guys I know of that fit this description are John Duddy in NYC and Boston, and Jimmy Lange who does well at the Patriot Center in Northern Virginia without any national recognition.

Lucian Bute was already selling 10 000 at his 15 pro fight and still got more every fight!

There are some who'd argue that Paulie Malignaggi is a big draw in the NY region.

I'm not one of them...but said tin foil hat wearing troglodytes do exist in the universe.

There are some inexplicable draws in NYC. Zab Judah, John Duddy, Edgar Santana and Dmitry Salita all seem to draw well here.

Joe Mesi was a huge draw in the Buffalo area. He was drawing 10k-20k each fight.

Matt Vanda is huge here and Bonsante to a lesser extent when they fought each other 10,000 people were at target center, really good fight too would have been good for espn
