That's odd because in George Foreman's auto-biography "By George" Foreman claims he was poisoned in that fight and that Ali was completely terrified of him and he knew he could whup Ali. Not my words, Big George's words :hat
Dam right. Those were some of the most vicious I've ever seen and still feel they were intentional. Zab had him badly stunned with the uppercut on both occasions and cotto. Those low blows took zab's chances of landing few clean punches to put his stunned opponent down. They also drained him making his small gas tank even smaller.
williams--cintron i really think cintron would have knocked him out if he hadnt decided to practice his swim dive off the ring...they were starting to heat up and cintron was catching him good.
I'll see if I can find the quote. This one came in George's later years, when he became the friendly grill seller.
This isn't the exact quote I saw, mine was when he was on HBO commentating. It's similar though. "I lost and I'm happy about it," Foreman said. "Ali didn't need any medicine in the water to whip me. If I would have fought him 20 times with organic water he would have beaten me. He had the style to beat me."
So who do yall think would win a rematch now? I think they might be around the same age and at 147 of course ...
I think it would still be competitive, but I would bet on Cotto. Judah tends to run out of gas for the second half of his fights, which is when the tides usually turn. He needs to get his oppoenents out of there is quickly as possible.
Historically it has to be Hagler vs Leonard. Personally i'd like to see/to have seen: Froch vs Kessler (quite possibly will happen). Lennox vs Vitali Khan vs Prescott (but khan wouldn't man up, even though prescott is a proven b- fighter) Mosley vs Cotto Martinez vs Williams MAB vs Hamed (peobably wouldn't change the result, but i'd like to see hamed finally focussed).
