    Joseph Parker

True fans of JP these days are surviving on fumes from yesteryear

Yet still we dare to hope.....

Joseph Parker is going to be a stepping stone in the future. A gatekeeper if you will. Merely used to highlight another fighters resume. "Jared Anderson has beaten former world champion Joseph Parker" (LOL)

    Maybe

But he is still young enough for one last run....

Parker would be a journeyman in previous eras

True, many became fans because he has so much potential and was exciting to watch coming up but he's just stagnated for so long and even when winning now seems to struggle it's so frustrating to watch such natural ability go to waste.

Thats the funny part, people laugh at guys like Michael Grant and Shannon Briggs but they would legit beat Joseph Parker and it wouldn't be a competitive fight from what i can see. The fact that a 40 year old Povetkin killed Whyte and gave Aj nightmares, and then a old Chisora got robbed against Parker, and last but not least a shot to bits Arreola dropping and hurting Ruiz shows opened my eyes about how weak this era is.

The quality in this era is no doubt poor. Sure in past era's you had old guys from previous era's beat contenders but they were elite guys like Holmes and Foreman not gate keepers like Chisora and Arreola.

It's no surprise Fury is top right now as he's been trained to box from an early age. Joshua and Wilder in contrast took up boxing late, same with Whyte and Joyce. Fury has an edge in years more of boxing training and you can see that in his skills compared to the top guys right now. Hopefully the next gen will be better and contain more guys who started young and not guys who fell into the sport later in life.

Is he ? Or do you just say that to make Aj's resume look better. Parker got dropped and outboxed by wild swinging whyte, looked clueleas against Junior fa and beat incredibly overrated Ruiz in a hometown majority decision. Shannon Briggs getting a gift decision against a old fat Foreman is definitely more impressive than getting a decision against an old gassed Chisora. Parker is certainly more skilled and has a better chin but Briggs hit way harder and i wouldn't be suprised if he flattened Parker out. Parker has no ko power, no ambition, and has done nothing of note besides "beat" Ruiz

I think he is better than Briggs myself on this I agree with Mark Ant.

Briggs was always overrated, what's his actual claim to fame? Getting a lucky decision over an ancient Foreman? Landing one good left hook vs Lewis and then getting pummeled? Taking perhaps the worst beating ever vs Vitali? Running around like a lunatic chasing Wlad around like a love sick puppy?

That's like saying Breazeale almost beat Wilder because he landed one good right hand and had Wilder backing up.
