Bump. I think Chris Byrd gets (had) a lot of respect from Kirk Johnson and Jameel mccline before big time fought him. They were in studio with Max at FNFs and both admitted that his style would give them problems. In verbatim it was max Kellerman declaring it but they both agreed with max. Kinda like the boogeyman of the division because his style was so frustrating.
Crawford is a pretty good example. Many ex-legends like RJJ have been ranking him alongside Mayweather for the best part of a decade, Tarver and Tim Bradley have been Crawford cheerleaders for years as well. Bivol, Usyk, and anyone who sparred him would talk about how good he was. Golovkin is another good example, especially between 2010 and 2013.
I agree wholeheartedly with Crawford. I just watched the art of Ward podcast with Tim Bradley on it: he said Terrence took him to school during sparring.
