Which boxers would be praised mlpre had their records looked very different had they gotten certain close fights that could gave gone either way or were not blatantly robbed. Glen Johnsson comes to mind with how often he got the wrong end of a decision. But also a guy like Sweet pea Whitaker. Imagine how his record looks had he gotten his fair decisions vs Ramirez and Chavez and gotten the edge to take dlh' 0. Or what about Jimmy young? Now looked as some contender from the 70's but he beat foreman, beat lyle twice, was robbed vs Ali, could have gotten the decision vs Norton. Hell of a better resume when he gets the decisions in his favour. Fun trivia fact by the way, bugaloo watts was his cousin. The guy that "beat" Hagler. In my book Hagler is amother example of a guy that in theory could be an almost undefeated champion on paper had he gotten the right decisions. I say almost cause by al reports he los the first fight fair and square vs Willie the worm. Imagine that guy being the only one to beat Hagler though? Same for a John Mcdermott vs Fury. Those guys could have used that prestige at some point. Hell, Mcdermott would be on tv shows giving pointers rather than driving a cab or something nowadays. So what are your examples of fighters who's resumes would look way better and who would be talked about with more praise had they gotten the edge?
Chisora with some luck could have wins over Helenius, Whyte, and Parker. Actually, the Helenius fight wasn’t close at all, just a blatant robbery.
Kovalev v Ward I - whilst Kov still has a great resume, I think that decision in Ward I really started his unravelling. GGG v Canelo x 2 - egregious decisions, but the fights elevated both guys IMO. Top drawer scraps.
I think these 2 are the most obvious ones. Kov clearly won the first fight and taking the 0 of Ward would have been a huge thing legacy wise. Without turning the thread into another GGG Canelo thread, I personally don’t see the second fight as a robbery but I think the first fight was clearly a GGG win and that would have been huge for his resume
