Yeah heard both of them two are decent lads, James still spars amateurs from London gyms as well as donating money to old club.

I've met alot of fighters from my neck of the woods, couldn't count the times I've met Joe Calzaghe. I was in college with Cleverly too, he used to copy my maths coursework. (;-))

Also met Gavin Rees, Enzo Maccarinelli and Enzo Calzaghe, Gary Buckland and others I can't think of at the minute.

EDIT: Not British, but SRL was in me street a few years back doing some PR work or something, interview's on YT. :happy

Robin Reid - was top class and had a chat about the calzaghe fight

K9 bundrage was a gent and chatted for ages after a public workout and after loads of people had gone.wanted something signed by him but lost my pen so got a picture with him and then he gave me the hat he had on in it instead

Weirdly Anthony small seemed a good guy and talked for ages about othe fighters although this was a while ago before he became the idiot he is now! He seemed like behind all the attention seeking he might be ok

If anyone has got some pics of themselves with boxers that'd be cool to see, worthy of a thread of it's own I think.

They were all sound, but then i was only a youngster then and didn't have long convo's with them so:conf.

Paul Griffin - but he's Irish. He was alright enough. Lived in Sydney when i did, used to see him around Bondi and Bondi Junction in the pubs now n then.

Colin Moore - Lovely bloke. He was a middleweight from Derby, retired with a detatched retina in 1961.

Him and his wife were my next door neighbours when i lived in Derby. He was in his mid 60's then. I was at St.Kitts ABC then and we used to talk about boxing and dogs over the back garden fence all the time, he'd get out his old scrapbooks of newspaper cuttings from the 50's when he was fighting.
He'd been in the Paras before turning pro, a tough fella, but he'd always tell me not to get into fights, he used to say "the best form of self defence is to be a good half miler".

Met Wally Swift JR sacrificing a goat in the temple of Baal in Carthage once whilst on tour. Srange fellow. Big Elvis Costello fan (who's also a bit of a wack job).
