As far as the question about whether the Irish/British thing was worth derailing a thread for I think the answer is it is worth derailing a thread opened with a question containing inaccuracies. And to be fair is cliche in the first place.

Look I'm not going to get mad heated in this debate because as you say it's not a political forum and I can't expect people to show any sensitivity from behind their computer screen's anyway.
