I would like him rewarded with a Commonwealth shot against Walsh. The talk of a Burns fight devalues Burns's belt. But he could defend his Inter strap against a variety of opponents: Sykes Buckland Crolla Matthews Choi
I'd fancy Buckland to beat him, once Gary gets passed jab and into range and works body it's his all days long. Layrea's footwork is dog**** and he isn't got any real ability on inside. He does slide and slip shots well when close then just stays there asking to be hit to body. Plus he launches in transition with wild hooks so he'd check his chin checked for sure if he did that against a focused sharp fighter. Walsh wins as well, Choi i think could do it due to pressure and heart but it would be a hard hard fight. Sykes well i think he'd do it, i think as long as he recovers from the KO loss to Buckland he's just grind Layrea down. Paul made the lad look way better then what he is, he never slipped or parried the jab, he never attacked of angles or wanted to work inside he did a bit then came back out to range...utterly baffling performance. Derry could win...i'm not sure Layrea has any real power just a good solid jab if you stand there waiting for it to hit your face. Derry would make him look messy and he has better skills. So Derry could win. Tbh it says a lot when i see neigh on all those guys beating Layrea and beating him pretty handily. Paul really did **** up last night.
after that sjowing last night i wouldnt put any money on frank putting liam in with him , liams not great and this guy looked solid and awkward , liam would win for me but it would be hard nights work
