    Cleverly? Haye? Even Rhodes? Struggling to think early doors this year..any help?

    Rhodes had little risk, a shot for nothing, esp. at his age. Haye didn't really have anywhere else to go other that Wlad. Cleverly is a fair call because losing to Bellew takes him from talking about a Hopkins to fight to looking across the ring at Orvil McKenzie.

    Ricky Burns gets it for me though, taking on Kats was a massive risk IMHO.

    John Murray deserves a mention I think, cos going in against a better man than has just beaten you beforehand then travelling overseas to fight this hard ******* on an undercard who was going to come in much heavier by fight time was a big risk, when he could have rebuilt with some wins & got a rematch with Mitchell.

    A risky gamble that never paid off, but he took the risk!

    That was what my OP was about actually, I looked at Haye with the reputation and hype/risk of the best HW around (yeah - I prefer Vitali too)

    But I actually couldn't remember anyone earlier in the year - even on the british or commo scene.

    Straight up Dunk, I though of him, Barker, Maklin but thought they've taken a big risk...but it's not damaged their career, might have made the more wiser etc.

    What about the 'Olympians' etc, any of them take a big risk (not like Burns but for the, risker that most)

    It wasn't a massive risk because he didn't have a great deal to lose. Is he in much of a lower standing now than he was before? He can still put those wins together and get the rematch with Mitchell. The real risk was getting in there with a very good fighter.

    I'm standing by my pick of Dean Byrne for now. :yep

    Yeah cuz Joseph Laryea, an injured Nicky Cook and a pretty much finished Michael Katsidis all in his own country is such a massive risk :lol:
