Northern Ireland is not in Britain it's in the UK.
Under Good Friday Agreement persons born in Northern Ireland are allowed choose their nationality as British, Irish or Dual-nationality.

Duddy has chosen to be singly Irish and the British Government would view John Duddy as an Irish citizen............have a nice day.

I think our next proper (WBC,WBA,IBF) champion is more likely to come out of the Olympic squad than any of the names already mentioned.

I don't see any of them winning a world title.

Froch if he counts as a prospect.

Claim away with Lee, he did actually start learning to box in England so at least you've some legitimate claim with there. However I'm certainly not going to be saying Andy isn't Irish.

Tell you what, we'll give you Gomez and we'll have a fighter with two Irish parents. He's only an amateur so you shoudln't mind, goes by the name of Gavin.

I'm sure the Americans(or is it the Russians?) will gladly give you Charlie Zelenoff and you're welcome to Warren's fighters as well.

Hey Magee's going to be claiming the Commonwealth title soon(at Super-Middleweight against the Bahamas Jermain Mackey)

You can have McBride though, he's not going to surpass 'beating' a shot Tyson so we've no need for him.

Don't know why yee need to be claiming fighters, you've already got the next Heavyweight champ http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=455515&cat=boxer

I hope he actually turns out to be good, Iceland could do with some pro boxers

edit: actually according to boxrec this guy is Iceland's first ever pro boxer........time for a celebration me thinks TFFP :happy:party:freddy:banana

You should probably go to the main forum and proclaim that this guy is going to be a modern great and could beat anyone, you know what the Polish guys do on here only more nationalistic.

Not wanting to be a pedant, or objectionable but Duddy could still be regarded as British as Eire is a part of the British Isles....a small and meaningless fact, but a fact nevertheless.
